I agree. They aren't exactly Rome and Byzantium.
What's the difference?
I agree. They aren't exactly Rome and Byzantium.
I have seen "Maya languages" and "Mayan people" even in scholarly contexts, though, so I don't think it's a hard rule. See for example the Yucatec Maya (no n) language. My understanding is that the people are Maya and the language is Mayan, by convention. There are about seven million Maya today, if anyone wants to reach out to them and ask if that's true.
Sounds like it may be one of those ad hoc conventions used by certain fields (or authors) to avoid confusion in a particular text, since again the Yucatec Maya language contradicts that convention. NB Mesoamerican languages and studies aren't my specialty, despite a certain interest in Yucatec Maya specifically; I'm just speculating here.My understanding is the convention is one of specialist anthropologists while other scholars tend to be much more sloppy or simply unaware of it. I'll have to track down the /r/AskHistorians post on it.
You're getting your money's worth out of that pun.It would be interesting if Lady Xoc were to show up in Civ VI. However, the various age classification boards would force the art team to tone down the Xoc value.
I must have so much fun being with all of you CivFanatics! You're getting your money's worth out of that pun.![]()
Pardon my ignorance on this issue.. I'm gay, I never have to think of breasts in ANY fashion but even in the images I've seen of her, there are none where her breasts sag THAT low. It may be a Dutch custom I'm unaware of, and I indeed mean no offense by this statement. Am I the only one who noticed that?
I never noticed that.
Yes, it does look rather unrealistic, even for women who both don't wear any lingerie and have oversized breasts.
I wonder what horrible food she will send with her delegates.
