[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

Actually, Anton said that they are rotating cast and when he said to Andrew Frederiksen that Ed might be doing the next one, Adrew said he was; at least I understood it that way.

Someone commented in another thread that Firaxis had posted on Reddit that we will have the live stream tomorrow at 11 a.m. PT and that they would be posting this officially soon. It sounds about right, Wednesday and at the same time as the other one.
Officially confirmed. Tomorrow 11 am PT or 8 pm CET

I would! And while I'm out there I would try and and have audience with this guy:
I really hope Mongolia's theme is something along these lines; throat singing for the medieval theme or something! I love this!

EDIT: I think I might of found a "alternative" version which sounds a but more fuller with more then 2 "instruments" which could represent a later era (the last piece of music in this video - I don't seem to be able to link the video with the time to start from):
I know other's have mentioned it on the First Look thread, but I'm so happy that I was right about the throat singing!
Sounds like they are using the throat singing as an opening instrument like the didgeridoo in Oz's Waltzing Matilda themes.

I suddenly want Sweden added just in hope they'll include kulning in the theme.

@stealth_nsk I can't reply to the "Next Sneak peak" thread, but 10,000-8,000 BC is about 7,000-5,000 years before the Eskimo-Aleuts and 4,000-2,000 years before the Na-Dene. Still, that lower range is much earlier than I was aware of, so thank you for updating my knowledge on that front.

Just divided deeper into the sources and there's quite a lot of mess about how old is the first arrows in Alaska and how early first Aleuts appear there. Still, in most places those time periods more or less match. Even if first Alaskans who used bows weren't Aleuts themselves, they are likely to be in contact with them.

The Mesoamericans used atlatls rather than bows and arrows.

The Mesoamericans had bows--they just preferred atlatls, slings, and bolas. Probably because they preferred war captives for slaves and sacrifices.

I know I'm jumping into this late, but I agree with the "more civs = more flavor" argument.

Way back in Call to Power 2, the civ list was something like 80-100 civs. They had no unique units or anything, it will literally a civ name and a city list.

I don't care if we have essentially identical civs, give me the flavor options! Especially if you can mix-and-match some flavor abilities so, even though no new mechanics are being introduced, a "new" civ is created.

So, we have a livestream today and possibly a wonder movie later this week. What are everyone's guesses for next week? Monday is Christmas, so it is unlikely they will follow the same schedule.

1. Will we get a First Look the week of Christmas?
2. If so, which day of the week?
3. Which Civ will be revealed next? (Whether next week or later)
4. Anything else next week?

My guesses:
1. Yes
2. Thursday
3. Mali
4. Sneak peek Wednesday, no wonder movie, no livestream

How about you? What do you think?
