[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

We are. @Eagle Pursuit even made a poll where you could guess which one we'll see. I think the south pole station is the favorite.

The previous two Wonder wovies were at 1pm and 11:30am EST, so it's still not settled about when to expect it.

I see we've reached the "discussing local weather" phase of the expansion wait.

So let's get back on track.

Well, we know that 9 of the buildings are associated with governments. 3 more buildings are probably for the Water Park district. That still leaves 2 unknown non-unique buildings as a mystery.

What might these two be? A building in the aqueduct or neighborhood district to make it more useful? A third building for aerodromes that give tourism? An alternative building for an already existing one (like stables/barracks)?

I suspect alternative buildings.

We already have alternate buildings in
the Encampment
the Theater Square
the Holy Site
and the Government Plaza

So these two might be in
the Industrial Zone
the Water Park (we don't know!)
the Harbor
the Entertainment Complex
or the Commercial Hub

maybe lighthouse or wharf/jetty? though I don't know why any harbor couldn't have both . . .

It could have a Marina instead of a Shipyard or something like that.

I seem to recall quite a bit of discussion around a second or third power plant option in the industrial zone. Past civ games have had hydro and nuclear plants as well as coal plants. One or both of those could be available later (so you would have to wait longer to build it) but have a different production (or other) benefit and possibly greater range of effect.

Yeah, I was considering that. They could give the regular power plant a +1 Production to Coal tiles and a Nuclear Power Plant +1 to Uranium tiles.

Same. The Solar Plant could be unlocked later, providing +1 appeal to all surrounding tiles, essentially negating the -1 appeal to all surrounding tiles from an industrial zone, as well as proving extra appeal around the Hansa, given that the Hansa doesn't have the -1 appeal to all surrounding tiles.

Right, solar plants. I forgot about them. I like that idea, though it would have to come quite late.

I don't think both alternates are going to be for the same building though. I expect they will spread them out.
