[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

Also not to mention that in the previous Expansions we got 9 Civs(?) and this time we are only getting 8 Civs and 1 Alt-Leader. Because of this I think they will push at least a couple of DLCs in order to get that number up to 10 Civs in the Expansion and post-expansion DLCs.

Don't we have one more base civ (including DLC) than we got in base Civ V?

It would be interesting if one of the civs from the double-civ DLCs were included in R&F, just like how Spain was included for G&K.

We could see Macedon, Persia, Khmer, or Indonesia included in R&F.

You have a more optimistic view of Steam users than I do, at least with the number of deluxe edition purchasers who wrote bad reviews because they thought their purchase would include a future expansion(!).

But mostly, I don't think they'd want the PR of being the first gaming company on steam whose DLC requires DLC (as that seems to be the case).

I wouldn't say that I do... But if kids toys and games (with buying parents who will complain if they feel cheated) can come with disclaimers that this only works with X and Y; then Civilization users can handle that level of complexity. This is far less complex than most the stuff in the game for goodness sake!

Just think of it that R&F is a Commercial Hub, and the R&F DLC are markets, and banks, and stock exchanges that you can only get if you've got the C/Hub first!

Well, Anton did say that the Apandana was a new wonder in R&F. That could indicate that Macedon & Persia is being included. :hmm:

Civ fans who purchase DLCs are very likely to purchase R&F as well.

Either Macedon or Persia would be included in R&F, so that those who purchased the Macedon+Persia DLC won't feel completely cheated.

Yeah, it's dangerous waters to give away to much that others have paid for.
Persia then I guess.

I concur.

Persia would be a great choice for R&F.

Macedon would be for those who purchased the Macedon+Persia DLC pack and/or the DDE.

Oh, and according to Ed Beach time, there's 47 days less an hour remaining until R&F's release!

I believe Civ5 had 18 Civs in the base game
7 Civs accross 6 DLCs
9 new Civs in EXP1
9 new Civs in EXP2

So far Civ6 has had 19 Civs in the base game +1 Leader
7 Civs accorss 6 DLCs
8 new Civs in EXP1 +1 Leader

So although we got 1 more Civ in the base game, we get 1 less Civ in the first expansion. But we do get 2 more leaders, but they shouldn't count as they aren't unique Civs.

They're worth a .3 or something to a Civ's 1.

As for my thoughts on DLCs after the expansion, there were no DLCs post-G&K, but that expansion was released half a year later relative to R&F. I could see them doing a few more DLC after R&F to make up for that time, basically. Additionally, the Deluxe Edition purchasers, who have not yet had to buy a DLC, will largely be the same group of people that will buy DLC; the people who just want to have all content. That means there's basically a "fresh" market for DLC still available.

There was DLC after BNW, but no civ-DLC's only mappacks.

Civ VI would be perfect for either a third expansion pack or R&F-exclusive DLCs that actually come with civs.

By the way, there have been leaks from a Chinese website showcasing the Cree and the Maurya Empire (alt India).

Looks like Canada won't be in R&F (but may be in an R&F-exclusive DLC or in a future expansion pack).

@God of Kings, just curious, how many post do we have to make in order to this thread become the largest thread?

We need to make at least 36 posts a day in order for this thread to become the largest thread.

Let's discuss the implications of the Chinese leak featuring the Cree and the Maurya Empire.

I've just remembered having a dream about Prague being a City-State. In that dream, I think it has been shown in a livestream, but I don't remember for which Civ

Which CS does it replace is the important question. Probably a cultural one. Kumasi? :goodjob:

When I imagine a First Nations civ, I keep having Land of the Silver Birch playing in my head.

Given that the Cree is leaked, it becomes less likely, since Land of the Silver Birch was composed by a Mohawk (one of the nations of the Iroquois Confederacy).

However, many Cree like to claim that song as their own.
To clarify, Land of the Silver Birch referenced wigwams, which the Mohawk did not build, but the Cree did.

Oh, and I'm willing to bet that Sean Bean will mess up with pronouncing Chandragupta Maurya's name.

Jainism should be added in as a choice for religion, given that Chandragupta Maurya later converted to Jainism.
