[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

I think the leader of Iceland should be Snori Sturluson. And they could have a special governmental district called the Althing. That would be great. And oh yeah offer some of that fermented shark hakarl as gift.

Sukritact is working on an Iceland civ mod right now. I forget who he picked to lead, but IIRC, it will be voiced and animated.

For anyone who places stock in the supposed wikipedia connection, tomorrow's edition of the English language Wikipedia (up now) has a OTD entry for Scotland and a Picture of the Day of a clock tower built by Ottomans in Tel Aviv.
So, in other words, "It could go either way". Thanks, Wiki!

I for one hope the leak isnt true. Not because of the civs, could be Iceland for all I care. It's about the civs design for me.

But, because for me, half the fun of a new expansion is the guessing and surprise come Tuesday reveal. This person is really taking away my enjoyment.

I miss the excitement of leader silhouettes in Civ 5. There was debate over who they were and all the guesses were plausible

And best of all: No leaky insiders spoiling the info

I feel like Wikipedia is trolling us.
I swear to god if we see an article on Braveheart or the Battle of Isandlwana sometime this week...

But if it's Rourke's Drift or Falkirk?

I have had fermented dogfish shark before when I took an Old Icelandic course in University. It wasn't too bad, actually. :goodjob:

Snori Sturluson would make an excellent leader. Is he currently a great writer in Civ VI? If not, he certainly should be.

Definitely, the Althing would make a great governmental district.

I'd love to see an Icelandic Civ but I know that will likely never happen. :undecide:

Will have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up. ^^

God bless the modding community.

Snorri Sturluson also compiled Norse mythology as well.

again, the solution would be to name the city "Roma" in either the Italian or the Roman City list. Problem solved.

Leaving Rome out of an Italian city list is ludicrous. It shouldn't even be up for discussion, really.

Maybe we could have Roma in the civ list, like how Cairo is in both the Arab and Egyptian city lists (correct me if I'm wrong).
I guess Roma is in the Roman city list in the Italian version of civ though. I don‘t think Rome is definitely needed. It depends on the civ, however. Torino and Firenze make nice capitals in any case.

How about 'Rome' in the list of Roman cities and 'Roma' (in Italian) in the list of Italian cities? It would be a form of difference to Rome of the Roman Empire and Italian Roma.
