[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

Bare speculation on my part. I was trying to come up with reasons for the lack of a First Look this week. Others have also wondered if there will be objections. But we have no hard evidence - we don't even know for certain they are coming.

I mean from the fact that said leader was in the game mechanics preview video before getting a first look certainly makes it seem like they had planned on giving him a first look before the preview video. Perhaps the plan was this week for Mapuche first look, next Tuesday for the mechanics preview, and then Thursday for Scotland for the previously mentioned Burns night. Then they worried after the Cree controversy and sent out a PR team.

Or maybe after Korea, Netherlands, and Georgia they've sent teams to Chile, Scotland, and South Africa to do research on the average skin tones ;P

I will say, I'm no expert on Georgian skin tones, so Tamar gets a pass in my book; if William Wallace is anything but pasty white, however, they made him too dark.

Hoping for a Wonder video today! High time we learned more about the polar station...

Snow Petra?
That's one interpretation - it does seem likely it will give extra yields from snow tiles. I was wondering if it might give science per snow tile.

Snow Petra is St. Basil Cathedral.

Technically that's Tundra Petra.

But I doubt the existence of a Snow Petra, as getting real use out of it requires settling in the middle of the tundra, meaning you also need St. Basil Cathedral.

It's gonna be a hard to build wonder, I think that can safely be assumed. I typically don't settle in tundra (only in rare cases) so I often don't even get close to snow...

Scott-Amundsen station certainly needs to be built on snow. But the main bonus being increased yields from snow is a bit unlikely, as it comes late and you don‘t own too many snow tiles usually. I think it will give raw science, GS points and strengthens scientific alliances considerably.

Twenty days!

I hope to see Casa de Contratación wonder today.

UNDER THREE WEEKS! *hype*

Which wonders are still left by the way? South Pole Station, Casa de something, any more?

slightly off topic,When planning the pre-release schedule, Fireaxis does not really need to do much inventory of what they have revealed indirectly in a video. They get the answer right after the release of said video in about the same time it takes to order a pizza;)

They won't want to spoil too much though, and if it's after the fact that won't help them.

No, but ToA was in Tuesday's vid. I think they'll officially release it today.

Looking forward for new content to come.

Well, we are getting close to the final stretch and it is getting more exciting. I do hope we get a wonder video today, but as much as I would have liked to see hints and a new Civ today, it has been a pretty busy week. Come Monday and the announcement of the questionable FULL DETAILS video, I didn't think we were getting a Live Stream, that is for sure.
