Rise From Medieval Kingdoms III, Thread Two

1545-1560

Sigh... this is more work than last time...

The Caliph was referring to the last time he had taken over the cartography/fighting results job, and lamented that it was far harder now than when he had last done it.

But, as to what happened...

The Germans were finished. The Russian army had marched straight into Munich and that was the end of them. The English, Argotians, and Russians then got to trading some of their new territory a little to what they had originally planned before the war, and they now look kind of weird in some places.

In news of the War of Anatolia, the Caliph is not entirely sure who the Ottomans are at war with any more. He knows Argos is not, as he has the two nations trading with each other. Echajinia, The Fatamids and Arabia he is sure are at war with them. As for Crimea, he's not entirely sure they're at war or not. He heard rumors the two nations' leaders were holding negotiations in Ankara, but after the Ottomans took a bit of land in Europe from Crimea, he's no longer so certain they're at peace.

And that was not all they did. They went south in their ships, invaded Egypt, and took the Nile Delta, the city of Muncie, and Chrisandria, the capital of the Fatamid Caliphate, which continues to do nothing. Their people may soon do to its leader what Arabia just did to theirs. Speaking of which, the Fatamid government is now located in Cairo.

The Arabs, now under a less sleepy ruler, have taken to rebuilding- all of the villages they have back to cities. They also built the city of Aleppo, long ago destroyed by Mongols. Although this looks good, the Caliph only hopes they don't get too pre-occupied with rebuilding and forget to build their military.

He has noticed Crimean explorers moving east to try to map out the land in between the Midddle East and India (a.k.a, Persia), but they have not yet returned. (Relax, Hitti, I'll get a Persia map, but not so soon after the Asian map was made, okay?)

In the new world- which no one else has yet discovered- some events have taken place. Well, some events take place everywhere, but, oh, nevermind. Firstly, Valdius Terra has finally gotten set up, and the nearby Marocite colony has finally gotten a name. And several new colonies have been created- The Gibraltan colony of Cariba on Jamaica, and the Russian colony of Novo Moskva in Panama- quite close to the Aztecs, the Caliph notes.

Several nations have also sent troops there, but they have not yet arrived. (Guys, if you have Astronomy, the troops do not get to the Americas instantly. They are "in transit" the next update, and show up the update after that.)

The Mayans and Gibraltans continue to work together to defeat the Taino, although their lack of knowledge of the other's plans means that the Taino have not yet been defeated, although they have been weakened.

Other barbarians don't seem to be doing much- yet.

Meanwhile, in Asia, more barbarian fighting takes place. The Japanese invaded Sakhalin island, and with their large force, completely destroyed the barbarians there. The Mings, on the other hand, have not fared so well, as they spread out their forces and didn't use enough of them. Although they managed to make small gains on the Manchurians, the forces they sent south to invade the Phillipines and Borneo were easily defeated, and the barbarians there took over more islands immediately as if they didn't even know the Mings had attacked.

In India, the Mughals and Vijayanagarans fight. The Mughals seem to be winning, as they have captured the city of Bombay. Well, you can't blame an ex-Mongol horde for being strong, I guess.

Some new trade routes have sprung up, but none between Europe and Asia. Supposedly, Russia tried to start one with Korea, only to find Korea had nothing to trade. (Sorry, Pi, but they only had one resource and Charles asked first. But, don't worry, I let you finish the Art of War anyway)

This seems to be a relative calm period compared to some other times, but, you know what they say, it's always the calm before the storm.

New tech:

Espionage: Ah, spies are amazing. They'll tell you about approaching armies, steal things, and kill people. Having this tech will give you more warning of incoming enemies, and as a result, +10% to Defense (It's not good enough yet to do more than that) Cost: 80 TP

And, due to now keeping the stats in a Word Document, I can update it in Word before the update rather than in the post after it, and copy+paste it there-

So the stats are now updated.

Um... You got none, cuz I forgot...

To be edited now.

Nice Update :goodjob:

Two things:

Add Caravels to my list of techs, and please change "London Colonization" project to "London Company." Thanks.

nice update.

Good Job.

Merciary... where do you propose we split Cuba?

@D'art: You think, but you're wrong.

Nice update:goodjob:. Also, I just noticed that I should have 7 tech points; I had 72 and then I spent 65 of it.

Does anyone want to trade with me? I currently have 1 open resource.

The reason you don't have any is because you underestimated the number of Tech Points you had to spend. :p

Thomas, I'm not sure where we should split Cuba, but when do your troops arrive. When they do we can attack from both sides.

Edit: Also looks like we need to develop a battle plan, contact me if you wish to.
