Rise of Europe: Germany (Dec 29, 2008)

I just use reference reconstruction/archaeological images to make units. :D
I sent many reference pictures to Sandris, and I confirm I am VERY impressed by how well he manages to use them to recreate historically correct units, with details that remain visible at civ scale.

From this pack, I believe the late iron age swordsman, high medieval horseman and halleberdier, at least are almost copies of reference picture I sent.

The truth is I`m already working on filling gaps within the Russian unit line. :D
So, will the next pack be Russians, or the Greek lines you mentionned earlier?

See, you completly spoiled us. A few months ago, when a new unit arrives, we were all "ah! oh!"

And now, we just say "oh... 30 more units from Sandris... Again... Yawn... When is the next pack?"

41 new units, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,.....................................41 thank you.:woohoo:

Sandris! Excellent, indeed superb, work as always - at least from what I've been able to garner from a handful of flics. Your previews aren't working (and I save them as a catalogue of your work).

Best,

Oz

You continue to amaze me with your wonderful releases. The Germans were definitely worth the wait thank you so much for your level of commitment in bringing us these superb units.
I am glad to hear you plan to make units for the other Knightly orders I'll be waiting with bated breath to see your realization of them.

Japanese pack will be made for sure, but I don`t know how soon will it be. :)

Fair enough, my mod is a long way from completion anyway ;)
Its just a request since im lacking ancient units for the japanese and most of the medieval ones are from firaxis.

Even better than I had imagined, thank you! The only guy missing I could think of would be a Germanic archer. :)

Beside, with the hundreds of civilizations already covered by Sandris, who needs a generic archer?

...

Hmmm...

Am I letting my enthousiasm show a tad to much with "hundreds"?

BTW, is this "bonus pack" the same as the "3rd pack", or is it a.. 4th pack?

With this body-count (513 units!), Sandris will soon have more units than he has posts

no kidding.

these units: incredible
the stone thrower: a great touch!
8 hours later: we're skying for 40 posts. That says it all.

I've been following the CivFanatics Forums since many years now, never contributing, only downloading and playing!...

But today I feel the need to appear on a post and say:
THANK YOU SANDRIS!
The CivIII People can only be grateful to you!

I'm looking forward to Greeks, Russians, knight packs, bonus packs and whatever upcoming... But let me add there are now, in my opinions, two Civs in real need of implementations: they are Persians (/Parts) and Ottomans (/Hittites).
Sandris, do hope you're going to work on them asap...

Thank you very much again and best wishes!;)
