Rise of Mankind 2.9 feedback and bug reports

Hi, i get a CTD when i click single player upon loading the Mod. My BTS is updated to 3.19 but this problem is still there. This seems like a great mod but i just can't get into it as of right now

i'm getting an endless AI turn after ending this turn. tried letting AI play this turn but it didn't make a difference. clean 2.92 ROM install

Sorry to bother you, but as I load RoM (version 2.91), I receive four pop-up error messages.

Two about the "ArtDefine" of Japanese Riflemen, and two about the art define of Jap Infantry.

The mod loads fine after that, but will always crash before the Renaissance, even if there are no Japanese on the map.. :(

Can you think of anyway I can fix this?

In my current game I notice that I have an open borders agreement with Cyrus that is not listed in the foreign advisor screen (F4) and cannot be cancelled. Is this normal? Does it maybe have to do something with the Revolution MOD?
( I wanted to cancel open borders to protect a captured great chief.)

You're not running any modmod's like HAND or AND? My clean 2.91 install worked liked a charm (and still does). And you're sure it's 2.91 and not 2.90 without the 2.91 patch?

Tried looking for this but could not find out who done it? No pic?

Its Zaparra's and we (you and I) reported it in an earlier release. I tried to find out exactly where the problem was to see if I could fix it but could not find a building/NW of that name in the XML, plus I had to go west for a week. If I could just find that name in the game text files it would help me find the problem ;)

after getting an endless turn bug in my last game, i started a new one with no revolutions. unfortunately i've encountered another endless turn. are these even fixable? is there a way to switch to another civ temporarily and let the turn play? i really like this game, and i don't really feel like starting another one after two incomplete games. i can attach save if anyone's interested

You can do what i do when i get them, which lately have been really rare.

1. Go to the LAST autosave (you should save every turn).

2. When the game starts, go into the WD and SAVE the game there at that point (name it something).

3. Go to Document/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Saves/WorldBuilder/(whatever you named it), take this and place it into the Rise of Mankind/PrivateMaps (here)

4. Press/start (your named game) here only. It should bypass what ever was holding it up, if not do it again from the next to last game etc. But mine always work.;)

Plus you can at that time change anything you want like a fresh game.

Hello,
I am playing RoM v. 2.91 and I have an issue regarding the specialists:
it seems that some specialist categories are situated into same place in the city specialist box. Thus, Spies are overlapping with Merchants and Nobles are overlapping with Scientists.
Having unlimited Nobles potential, I am not able to employ a Scientist specialist because I am simply not able to click at it, since it is hidden behind a Noble.

Please, is there a patch to this? There was a discussion about this earlier in this thread but it did not reach any conclusion ...

Thanks a lot for any help :)
K.

thanks for the information. before i read your post i had fixed the problem by setting two warring AIs to peace with each other in world builder. however i'm now in the industrial age and i can't get past another turn. this time setting everyone to peace didn't solve the problem. i also tried your method, but the turn still wouldn't end. by starting a new game, the game unfortunately erased all the autosaves, so i can't go to an earlier one. i do have some manual saves, but they are much older, and i'd rather not re-play for hours if not necessary.

anyway, i'm attaching the save causing the problem. hopefully someone can take a look and figure out what's wrong. i have to say i didn't have the endless turn problem before 2.92, but 2.92 has been nothing but problems.

A (small) issue with improvements:
with Middle Age techs watermills give the same food output than farms (+3).
It feels weird to me that a watermill produces as much food as a farm. In fact I am substituting farms for watermills in my production cities. Has anybody noticed this?

RoM has no Aerospacial National Agency, it must from some modmod. RoM has only Aerospace Complex on Transhuman era.

Can you open the diplomacy window with Cyrus from the scoreboard and cancel the agreement from there?

Where do you have the Cart path located at in the routes? I want to change the looks of it.
Check Rise of Mankind\Assets\XML\Art\CIV4RouteModelInfos. I can't remember now if cart path graphics were included in Warlords/BtS or if I added it to RoM fpks...

I had the same problem with neverending turns had to do the work around thanks for the idea!
I hope these issues will be fixed when I get the chance to merge RevDCM 2.8 to RoM.. been waiting for new RevDCM release couple weeks now. Most of the issues found in RoM 2.92 are due to RevDCM SVN version I had merged to RoM.

Hey folks, first time posting here. I loved RoM on my XP machine, but now that I've got my new rig and Windows 7 I've hit a problem.

1) I cannot see the 'Revolution Watch' tab in the upper-right hand corner and I don't get the 'unit filter' buttons above the bottom section of the screen. Don't know if this is a design change or not, so this may or may not be a bug. Didn't think it was though. City interface and everything else is fine.

2) I get an error when trying to set the 'choose religion' custom option. It tells me "Error in RevDCMReligionControl callback handler doHolyCityTech" and doesn't show up the box of religions, it just selects the default one.

I was initially having problems with a massive list of 'failed to create .ini's', but I solved it by enabling admin on the Civ 4 folder and messing around with the the CVAltRoot file as ordered. However it's not fixed these above problems. Will upload the logs I have. Thanks for your time.

(No modmods installed, BtS 3.19 patch, RoM 2.92)

Same problem here. Just got a massive amount of OK-clicked errors and the "Error in RevDCMReligionControl callback handler doHolyCityTech" message too.
And instead of being able to choose religion I just got Christianity.

Hi,

I have taken advice and continued to yell at my PC :)

However i am no closer to trying to figure out where the issue is so i can continue with this dam fine mod.

Any advice would be greatfully recieved.

I suggest you install the Mod into "My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Mods" instead.

No, don't. Never do that. Install it in the main Civ IV/Bts/Mods directory, but make sure you've installed the game outside of Program Files first!
