Rise of Mankind 2.9 feedback and bug reports

Here is my info. I cannot move past this turn, it crashes during the AI phase.

I'm using a gigantic map, so that may be the problem. Great mod btw.

Thanks

Hi, anyone know if it's possible to disable random events for an active game?
I've got a crash happening in a late game huge map and I think it's related to events because running AI auto-play for 2 turns manages to avoid the crash. So I can get past it this way, but I'd rather just disable events if that's possible. I had a good look around at UI and config file options but couldn't find any way to do it...
Thanks.

Yes you can, you can turn on and off game options mid game if you enable cheatcodes. I showed a user how to do this with a different game option in this post. Simply replace GAMEOPTION_FLEXIBLE_DIFFICULTY with GAMEOPTION_NO_EVENTS.

Hello, all.

I played a couple of test games and everything went well except for the dotmap bug. I installed the 2.91 version and i can't seem to be able to start a game anymore.

The mod load up is quite slow but eventually it starts, then when i launch the game i get some XML errors and the game crash. It used to launch fine with 2.90, but now even if a revert back to 2.90 i get the same errors. I even tried to redownload the mod, uninstalling civ completely but still get the same errors.

My guess is that it's some kind of configuration file that it doesn't get deleted during the uninstall (now that i uninstalled it it seems to remember my old map and language configuration). Any idea on what to do? I tried to delete the cache folder and it didn't work

I'm running Win7

this is very long thread. i don't know if anyone mentioned it but there're always missing resources on a map. last time i played there weren't salt, apples and lemons on a whole map. the game before hasn't olives, apples, silk and couple more not important resources. as for salt, there where only one source for it (standard size map). sometimes there is no marble, but i'm getting it lately. it's ok if i don't have apple and olives, but it quite annoying not having salt or marble.

plus, electricity is not working. buildings don't give bonuses.

Thank you for the advice. Well, I am running vmware so it should be possible to install the PC version, provided that it is less resource hungry than it is on the Mac. Thanks again.
sucks that you have to be in Windows to play (except crossfire) :( the Mac port is terrible, though this is mostly the fact that they had to make it a universal binary, Civ 5 port should be much better

Downloaded RoM 2.9, unzipped to bts mods folder. Opened bts, loaded RoM...
Bts restarts to load the mod... then nothing. It just doesn't start. I was looking for a setup or install for
RoM 2.9 but found nothing... can anyone help?
Oh... on windows 7 bts expansion pack...

Changed CvAltRoot to correct root path (several times).
It acts like it's about to load.. flickers, then back to desktop.
Quite frustrating.

A couple of ACV Icons.

Hello,

Love the mod.

I've got an NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M graphics card in a laptop, with 4GB RAM, set to high performance. I played to the end without problems on version 2.8.

Now I have 2.91 and at the end of the attached turn (which as you can see is fairly early--with not much going on) the game crashes. I have tried reducing my graphics to the lowest settings (and I am not running any other programs), but that does not help.

Thanks for putting this all together--let me know if you have any suggestions.

When I load the mod nothing in the game changes. How do I fix it?:wallbash:

Have you installed RoM in your Civ IV/BtS/Mods directory? The Rise of Mankind directory must be called that and nothing else.

Yeah, but the its just one massive file and if I try to look into it I have to load everything in the file onto my notepad.

I think I found a bug. I am getting crashes on load of saved games after a certain point in my game. The crash happens after the load progress bar is complete.

Logging in resmgr.log:

"RESMGR: Scene file Art/Structures/Cities/an_Meso_America failed to load. Reason: (code:1) Cannot open file."

renaming "an_Meso_America.nif" to "an_Meso_America" successfully loads those saved games.

this caused the resmgr.log to fill with a ton of converse errors.

so I put two versions in the folder, both "an_Meso_America.nif" and "an_Meso_America".

the resmgr log is clean now, and the games load :)

RESMGR: ---- Unloading ----

Oh wow I'm a moron. :hammer2:

Bull I extracted the files put it in the sub folder and I loaded the mod and nothing changed.:badcomp::wallbash:

They should be in a folder called "Rise of Mankind". Make sure you didn't do something like "Rise of Mankind/Rise of Mankind/Assets/..." It should be "Rise of Mankind/Assets/..."

OK now I got the mod in the right place but its failing to load. A message pops up saying Civ has stopped working. :wallbash: Oh BTW I have a Vista.
