Rise of the American Empire

The Cherokee Nation asserts our national sovereignty and emphasizes that we do not endorse or recognize the claims made by the Washington Heirs over the former United States; that being said, dual citizenship has not been a new, radical idea for a long time. So long as the Washington Heirs make no attempt to tax Cherokee citizens or to hold Cherokee citizens who are not currently living in the Washington Heirs' lands accountable to Washington Heirs laws, we shall not prevent our people from voting or running in Washington elections.

-----

With the rise of the UCA, private citizens and government officials in all UCA nations have gotten to know each other a little better, and there have been cases of them cooperating on policy decisions. A particularly high-profile case of this would be the former Cherokee Secretary of State, Degotoga Featherstonehaug, and former AR Finance Minister, George Chiang, announcing their plans to run together for President and Vice-President, respectively, of the Washington Heirs. Degotoga brings in years of foreign policy experience and George brings his financial and economic expertise to the table. The candidates have slightly differing ideas on the best way to run a country, but they have reached mutually acceptable compromises on all their positions and their platform can be described as broadly centrist.

Private citizens have also announced candidacies for the Senate and House seats of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska.

The Mandate notes that the old Texan capital of Austin is in our lands. We will not hence allow Texas to fall into the tentacles of Washington.

Henceforth we declare this El Gano from Los Salvadores will be contested for we believe Texas, as cradle of Tlamihua, is beyond the hands of the former USA.

In light of this we will set Kon Xolo, a priest of the Iccan faith, on a special mission to contest that the title of "senator of Texas" belong to the Prophet Tzin Temachtiani alone, as the Prophet is the sovereign of the Chosen People.

For political purposes Kon Xolo will sit in the Prophet's seat to deliver the will of Tzin. You may put Kon Xolo as essentially the emissary of Tzin for the title.

The seat is contested to enshrine Texas's independence from the USA; the former USA was a nest of decadence and malice, which enforces its ill will through aggression.

We enter this because we must stop the Washington Heirs from gaining a casus bali against us!

Consider all faithful citizens to have their votes cast for Kon Xolo; we are a sovereign power separate from the USA that are only contesting this to stop a random heathen call themselves "senator of Texas."

After further consideration, Bermuda has decided it will take part in the Pan-American Census. We will however not back any candidates in Washington elections and leave any representation of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas to private citizens with dual Bermudian-American citizenship.

Your government is a bygone relic of an old era best left for history textbooks and horror stories. The Federation and her Second Constitution is the sole law of the land in our territories, and we do not recognize the legitimacy of your claims to represent our borders. You can take your census keepers and shove them up your ass, and likewise with your sham of a bourgeois election.

The American Republic wishes to announce that it has signed a peace deal with the Navajo Nation. With the war over, hopefully our two nations can live in peace and foster cooperation the region.

The Navajo Nation confirms that the state of war with the American Republic has ended.

Capitol Hill has, given the extraordinary circumstances, passed a bill to decide how seats are to be apportioned and candidates elected to office, barring a unified state government that can rule on the matter (while preserving elections):

1. For the Senate, the candidates with the most and second-most votes are to be elected to office. A best two out of three coin toss shall be used to determine seniority and thus Class.
2. For the House, states with receptive effective governments shall have their share of the 435 seats apportioned based on the Census. States not participating in the Census, in absence of information on their population, shall be given the Constitutional requirement of one seat.

Washington extends its fondest gratitude to the government of Bermuda, and hopes for good relations in the future.

Carolina shall allow its citizens to participate in the 2064 election and its census.

Florida shall allow its citizens to participate in the 2064 election and its census.

The Keetowah government accuses the Washington pretenders of using this election to distract from the destruction of the sovereign Keetowah state.

Tennessee, after due consideration, agrees to not interfere with any of its citizens participating in the election and census. Tennessee understands that this breaks with its allies in the Internationale, but feels that it would be unjust to deny its people the right to voice their conscience on the matter. Tennessee was founded as a nation of soldiers who would be free from exploitation, and while the Republic continues to assert its independence, it does not feel its private citizens voting in the elections of a separate state are detrimental to its own independence.

Tennessee of course disagrees with nationalism and the traditional structure of the United States, but such things are best dissolved through social participation as opposed to isolation. The good people of Tennessee joining the elections gives hope to spread Tennessee values to the heart of the former capital.

The SEATO nations have reached an agreement with the government of Chicago, welcoming them as the ninth member state of our defense alliance.

The Cherokee Nation is deeply disappointed in SEATO for opening their doors to an oppressive autocracy like the Meigou, and has doubts on Bermuda's commitment to democratic ideals given their willingness to overlook tyranny as long as the tyrant is a monarch.

The SEATO organization was founded not as a political organization but as a defense alliance to assure peace in America. Bermuda believes the best way to bring people together is by letting them in rather than isolating them, and points to the fact that the governments of both Los Salvadores and the Washington Heirs have undertaken democratic reform since becoming SEATO members.

Charlie Harper Rally in Salt Lake City

- President Charlie Harper, Conservative candidate for President

- Lex Luthor, Conservative candidate for Vice-President

Electoral campaigning in the American Republic has become more heated as election day comes closer. The candidates organize rallies across the country and political rhetoric has escalated. Charlie Harper and Lex Luthor, the Conservative candidates for President and Vice-President, held a rally yesterday in Salt Lake City, during which they denounced the liberal opposition and spoke of their plan for further tax cuts.

"John Kaine is a populist, is a radical leftist and his policies will hurt the working class and ruin our economy!", Charlie Harper said. "His anti-free trade and pro-regulation policies will strangle the economy. His protectionism shall cause a recession and trade wars while his regulatory proposals shall drown small businesses with red tape and ineffective bureaucracy. His social agenda is even worse, wanting to take our guns away and censoring free speech. We shall not allow him to destroy our great nation! We shall defeat him!"

The crowd cheered while people shouted slogans like, "Down with the commie!", "Charlie! Charlie!" and "Liberty!". Lex Luthor also spoke in the rally, outlining the policy proposals of the Conservative Party regarding the economy. "We shall cut taxes and regulations! In his first term, President Harper lowered taxes by 30% and reduced corporate tax to 5%. This brought economic growth. Thus, in our second term, we shall continue that policy. We shall immediately cut income tax by 10% for everyone and completely eliminate corporate tax. We shall also eliminate the department of labor; most of its agencies have already been eliminated by President Harper, so there is no reason to waste any money on this department. EPA shall also be completely dismantled. Most of its regulations have already been repealed and now we shall eliminate this agency for good and fire its useless bureaucrats. As the great Ronald Reagan once said, we shall starve the beast!"

Lex Luthor also spoke against communism and the Syndicalists. "Sparta has adopted a new more democratic constitution, the Washington Heirs hold elections, across the continent democracy flourishes. But in one corner of America, tyranny and autocracy reign. The brutal and murderous Syndicalist regimes oppress even more their people, they rule with an iron first and are the most fascistic and tyrannical regimes ever seen since the fall of Communism in the end of the 20th century. We must denounce those butchers at every opportunity!". The crowd responded with slogans like, "Better dead than red!" and "Democracy will prevail!".

Polls show the Conservatives in the lead. In most polls, President Harper leads with 66% of the vote and is followed by John Kaine with 30% and Arnold Schwarzenegger Jr. with 4%. His good economic performance in the first two years of his term and his astounding victory against all odds in the Pacific War have made President Harper the most popular politician in the country and his victory seems certain. It is also expected that his Senatorial majority will further increase, thus giving him a chance to further push his libertarian economic agenda.

John Kaine Rally in Cheyenne

- John Kaine, Liberal candidate for President

- Ted Rubio, Liberal candidate for Vice-president

Meanwhile, the Liberal candidates for President and Vice-President, John Kaine and Ted Rubio, have held rally in Cheyenne. John Kaine has also escalated his political rhetoric and presented a radical liberal platform. He announced more regulations, more welfare spending, institution of public healthcare, tax hikes on the rich and has stated that he is against free trade. He also accused Lex Luthor of being a 'far right radical' and Charlie Harper of being an 'extreme neoliberal'.

In the rally, John Kain said: "The odds are against us, but the fight is not over yet! The polls are misleading. We are leading a new liberal movement against the ever more radicalized Conservatives. My opponent accuses me of being a radical and yet he proposes the most radically neoliberal economic program in American history. Mr. Harper is an extreme neoliberal and his running partner is even worse; Lex Luthor is a far right radical, an anti-communist and fascistic. I am not a radical; I am a center left Liberal. They are the ones who are radicals and populists. The current Conservative Party has moved too far to the right and it is up to us to stop them!"

The crowd applauded and shouted, "Kaine! Kaine!", "Down with the 1%!" and "Feel the Kaine!". Ted Rubio also spoke in the rally. "We shall increase corporate tax for large businesses to 50% and shall increase income tax to 68% for the rich 1%. We shall no longer allow the business moguls to grow rich with the labor of the working class. Those money shall be used to fund public education and public healthcare, for healthcare is a right! We shall also reinstate all regulations repealed by the Harper administration and shall introduce new environmental regulations. We shall also follow a protectionist trade policy and shall not allow other nations to exploit us!"

Despite their combative attidute, the Liberals have in fact lost ground since last season as the military victory of President Harper against the Navajo has boosted his popularity. Most polls show them at 30% and even the most Liberal friendly polls show John Kain at 36% at most. Although it is unlikely that John Kaine will be able to win the elections, his progressive faction has overtaken for good the Liberal Party and he has expanded public discourse regarding healthcare and public education.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Rally in Casper

- Arnold Schwarzenegger, Republican candidate for President

- John Romney, Republican candidate for Vice-president

Arnold Schwarzenegger Jr. is the outsider of the race. A third party candidate who self funds his campaign, he runs as President, with John Romney running as his Vice-President, for the Republican ticket. The Republican Party is the third largest party in the American Republic but in last election it got only 1% of the vote. Most conservatives and right wingers vote for the Conservative Party nowadays but Schwarzenegger hopes to change that. His political platform has been described as fiscally moderate and socially moderately conservative, which is in stark contrast with the radical fiscal conservatism and social liberalism of the Conservative Party.

In his rally in Casper he said, "The so called 'Conservative Party' is no longer truly conservative. Under Charlie Harper it has become a Libertarian party. Libertarianism is not conservatism and Harper does not represent true conservatives! On the other hand, John Kaine is a radical liberal whose policies are populist and inefficient. We in the Republican Party are the voice of reason and moderation!". The crowd applauded his speech.

John Romney too spoke, "What we propose is tax cuts of 5% for the working class and an increase in corporate tax from 5% it is today to 10%. We shall cut red tape and eliminate unnecessary agencies but we shall not dismantle important departments, like that of labor, nor shall we eliminate all government regulations. The state needs to make sure that there is fair play in the market. We shall also not legalize any drugs, like both the so called 'Conservatives' and Liberals want to, and we shall restrict abortions when the mother's life is not in danger. We are true conservatives."

The Republican Party has been polling high, at 4%, gaining voters from both the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party. Schwarzenegger has been able to attract both centrists who dislike the two party system, moderates and staunch social conservatives. Nevertheless, the Republican Party will most likely not be able to increase its support due the polarization and it is unlikely that it will play any meaningful role in the election or hurt President Harper's chances of victory. Despite this, Schwarzenegger has asserted himself as the new face of social conservatives and centrists and the Republican Party will have to be taken more seriously from now on.

Denver petitions to enter UCA alongside its ally, the Navajo.

Denver will also let its citizens participate in the 2064 elections and invites DC census takers to its territory.

Man: Good afternoon North America!

Woman: Or what would have been a good afternoon, if you weren't exploited by your boss, forced to slave away for peanuts while they reap the value of your labor!

Man: My name is "De Leon"

Woman: And I'm "Luxemburg"

Both: And this is Guerrilla Radio's "Kulturkampf".

Luxemburg: Our main story tonight is on the pitiful excuse that is the so-called "national" "election" of 2064 that the autocratic fools in the ivory tower, or house in this case, is demanding every nation on the continient to participate in.

De Leon: Specifically, the rump, ex-Federal statei s demanding nations open their borders not only so they can take a "census", but demanding that they run and oversee an election right in their own borders!

Luxemburg: I don't know what is the worst part of this arrangment. Letting a nation run in your borders and fill out a detailed report of every citizen in your country is stupid in itself. You're handing over to Washington valuable infomation for espionage and warfare, not to mention giving spies the perfect cover story of why they're in your borders. "Don't mind me, I am just doing my job peforming this census"

But not only that, but this nation claims you are its rightful territory on top of that, and that their laws still apply to you. Well, no horsehocky, if you let them run across your border like that, you are nothing but their puppet.

De Leon: It's completely ludicrous to belive that Washington, who claims it is the sole, rightful government of the former 50 states, isn't challenging the sovereignty of every North American nation by holding this election. If they respected our territorial sovereignty, they wouldn't be asking us to hold an election for their internal affairs in our own territory. There is no legal precedent for this arrangment at any point pre-Plauge.

Luxemburg: It would be like England demanding France to let Normans vote for MPs to the British parliment because at one point in the far past, Normandy is where the first King of England was from.

De Leon: Exactly! France would have told Britain to sod off, since Normandy was and continues to be an integral part of France. Unforunately, the hacks running the borgeious states to the south and west apparently faied to get this memo, since they very happily acquesied to their demands.

Luxemburg: Bourgeois identity is a trans-national concept, comrade. Globalist scum probably want to reunite their greatest tool, the old Federal government, to beat down the worker yet again. After all, more profit can be made if they have to bribe less civil servants to control government.

De Leon: This is the same Washington that cowardly attacked the Revolution unprovoked. We fought them off, since the people united can never be defeated.

Luxemburg: And if they try it again, we'll fight them off again until we bury them all, because the people can never be defeated. But make no mistake, the bourgeois want to reunite old America to strike a second Crusade against the Internationale, the greatest and presently only resistance formed against their machinations.

De Leon: Unfortunately, not even we have a unitied front. Here is the official statement by the Tennesse Government:

Luxemburg: "Deny the right to voice their conscience on the matter"? What meaningless drivel. Everyone has the right to comment on elections happening in other nations. For example, I can say with utmost confidence that all the candidates in Utah's upcoming presidental election are complete worthless dirtbags, and that I feel sorry that the noble workers of that nation have to put up with such a reactionary government.

De Leon: If you are listening in from Utah, don't even bother to show up to the polls. Seriously. There is no way a proper Syndicalist canidate could mobilize a campaign in this short of a timeframe. Save your energy to forming unions and fighting for your rights as a human being, and then form a Syndicalist Party once you have a secure union base.

Luxemburg: But, what Tennessee fails to realize is there is a world of difference between a private citizen voicing their opinion on a foreign nation's election, and letting that nation into your own borders and running an election themselves. That is cedeing authority, plain and simple. It is beneath the dignity and respect that our comrades in Tennessee deserve.

De Leon: And what the hell is with this nonsense about social participation vs isolation? Being a sovereign worker's nation is not isolationism, as evidenced by our membership in the Internationale. It's about being anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist, and refusing to consent to their modes of power. Even the most naive socialist shoud know the difference.

Luxemburg: I wonder what our comrades in Memphis would think if Utah asked if they could run a census and an election in their borders. I think they would be singing a much different tune.

De Leon: Not to mention, both of our nations were founded on the principle of direct action in the wake of the collaspe of the old Union. While we do not mean to denounce the revolutionary zeal and passion of the brave men and women of the old Syndicalist Party, such as Margarita Sanchez, who fought within legal means for reform, the context of their situation was far different than today. In the 2040s, political action was simply more of an effective tool than direct action, so our comrades of the time did political action. We do not blame them, but in fact celebrate their heroism, for standing up to the reactionaries and fascists when no one else would.

Luxemburg: But this isn't the 2040s. There is no more unified American government. This is an era where direct action established the world's first true socialist governments in North America. We don't need to play the bourgeois' games, since we created our own democracies within our unions, ones that aren't for sale and can't be bought.

De Leon: Agreed, comrade.

Luxemburg: On that note, we still urge all those within the territory of Washington's rule, to form a Syndicalist Party of Washington. But make sure you are armed, because the old reactionaries will not hand power over so easy to you. Make them fear the red hydra once more. Comrades of other nations who foolishly give up their sovereignty to Washington, don't let the oppritunity pass you. This could be your way to free our comrades in the mid-atlantic. Only refuse to participate if your nation is sufficently revolutionary, of which only Tennessee qualifies: for the Revolution itself should be where our true loyalty lies.

Both: Workers of the world, unite!

De Leon: Up next, we continue our coverage of our brave comrades in Centeral America, fighting for their Syndicalist homelands.

Luxemburg: And we will dive further into just how rotten the election in Utah is.

De Leon. But first, here is some tunes.

It appears the Washing Heirs seemed to not get the point; we do not need elections to determine whom we are to elect, for the will of the divine. We only are making the conduction in order to counter your claim over Texas; we are sovereign.

We would like to ask the Heirs if they agree to the apostle we want to send by the way for purpose of a treaty.

Washington responds that there can be no theocratically-appointed Senator, as that violates the Establishment Clause of the Constitution. There can likewise be no treaty for a US Senate seat, as that would be tantamount to recognition of east Texas sovereignty. All seats must be elected.

The Heirs would also point out that a Senator sent by the Mandate's effective government would by definition preclude the Mandate's sovereignty, as it is an admission of statehood.

Then than settles it; west Texas (Los Salvadoras) is welcomed to senates cause the Mandate rejects the handing over of our sovereign will.

With the permission of the Cherokee government, Tennessee and Los Salvadores wish to deploy their air forces through Cherokee airspace to assist in deposing the vile regime in the New Frontier.

Permission granted; it would be a travesty if the citizens of TNF had to wait until summer to taste freedom; the sooner their backwards regime falls, the better.
