Rise of the Imperator (Chapter I)

Nice play,
I suggest we build a scout or two, finish that monument and library and then chop/whip about 8 preatorians (maybe also make a worker or two). Then attack that orange guy on the south and keep his best cities. Then we'll need to recover our economy.

Yes that Orange Guy :) is Bismarck of Carthage. I have a warrior down there to fogbust his territory. I'd like to see him horseless so we won't have to worry about his UU. Looks like you are up mfie. Thanks for the thumbs up guys.

Ok, So I have to get some defense (about one axeman a city is enough i think), some scouts, complete the library and monument, some workers and then build prats for war?
But what should we research?

I played my turns (about 24, untill math was finished) , both Cumae and Antium expanded borders, We have an army consisting of 2 axeman guarding Antium and Cumea and a stack of 5 prats + 3 more than 50% finished prats. We have 4 workers (improving Antium and Cumae). I scouted bismarks land (and then cancled open borders with him because Ragnar asked it). Bismark has copper and axeman, and the copper is under a city (so we can't pillage it :(). I forgot to let the other 2 warriors scout for about 15 turns (sorry!). Mathematics is complete.

I'm now writing a report

1350 BC -> I whip an axeman in Rome
1325 BC -> Scout gets finished and killed 3 turns later
1300 BC -> Whip an axeman in Antium + An preatorian in Rome (we got happiness enough)
1225 BC -> Lose scout, barb axeman starts assaulting our cities
1125 BC -> Library finishes
1100 BC -> Monument finishes
1075 BC -> I found the copper of Bismark, but its under a city
900 BC -> Ragnar comes asking to close borders with Bismark, I accept
675 BC -> Math finished, I stop playing

Sorry for not sow detailled repot, but I stopt writing down after turn 15 or so, so I don't really now when I finished the workers and other prats

Units now:
- 5 prats (+3 working on)
- 2 axeman
- 4 warriors (maybe delete one ?)
- 4 workers

I builded a library in Antium and a monument in Cumea

Great job getting the Praets out :goodjob: . The sooner we get this war started the better. Our research is about to hit the floor and we need pillage to keep it going. Bad news Carthage has Horses (for UU) so we'll want to make that pasture a strategic target. Looks like Korias is still down and haven't heard from autocon in a while. So glenmetz is next, whats your take on the next turn set?

OK, I'm next. Now that math is in, what should we go for research wise next? I say construction for Cats. I'll get another 4-5 praets out and then start up a war. I'll aim for his horses 1st. I probably can't get into this tonight, but most likely can tomorrow. That gives us some time (36 hours or so) to figure out our plans.

Praets are strength eight- we won't need Cats, Just more praets. The best choice for research is Currency to unlock the Forum, which will boost our GP rate.

I agree, since the war will probably be finished before we get to construction. We better prepare for the economic crash that is going to happen after the war

I agree a few more Praets and we should go, the sooner the better. We need to keep our research going and right now gold from conquest is our only short term option. We will need the forums once the war is over and we can begin cottage spamming and get our GP Farm online in Rome.

I feel awful for this, but I need to put in for a pass. I'm coming down with the flu and have zero energy to concentrate on anything at the moment

I'll not be able to play untill thursday due to me going to England (London)

I just got back up and running. Finally. IE 8 is still causing problems and I cant uninstall it but I should be fine with just playing Civ for now.
