RK-08: Atomic Betty

Sounds like a plan Frankcor. We can put Sankore in Nottingham when that pops up with a GE. We need to finish HG to have optimal GE output though.

OK, since Robo is on auto-skip it seems that I'm up...
Well, this is my *got it* and I'll play in about 27 hours (yeah, tomorrow evening). I just don't want to screw up everything.
Robo, if your home connection fixes, you can grab the save until then, ok?

Guys, I won't kill anyone if you can answer me this: will we wait until rifling and Redcoats to begin conquering our continent??? It's our first objective on our variant!!!! Atomic Bety went Wonder Betty!
I think we can get someone with trebs and maces... But I would like to see someone killed before it...

My instincts would tell me now: "Research Literature. Nobody has Alpha yet. Go and build The Great Library!". Is that ok? Since we are on Anarchy, I can't tell if we are getting a GP or a GE first. Can you tell me, vra? If we get a GE first, I'll try timing the Aqueduct with him and have him rush the HG. If we get a GP first, I won't even bother with HG. We can always run an engineer with a Forge later. I'd priorize GL, wouldn't you?

Waiting for your inputs!

I just looked at my save, so I can say a few things for certain. We are getting a GP first, no question. The GE won't come in time to help build the HG. Not a problem really. Here's my reccomendation.

As soon as we get Monotheism, do a twin revolt to Representation and Organized Religion. Add GP to Nottingham as a Super Specialist. He'll contribute some production to our GL. Make the trade with Fredrick a.a.s.p. to get Math. Start building Aqueduct in London, then follw up with the HG in London. There should be no need to rush it. Why? Becuase I doubt anyone has a capital with better production, we will have stone, we'll be running OR (cost 25% less) and we've been dominating so far. After that's done, add the National Epic in LONDON. We'll never need to commit turn after turn of hammers to another Wonder again.

Your right, after Monotheism, go get Lit and build the GL up in Nottingham. Sankore, the next Science Wonder, can go there later. The idea, is trying to keep the purity of the GPersons you see.

So far we'll be generating Prophets in York, Engineer's in London, and Scientists in Nottingham. That's why Must build the GL in Nottingham and not in London, as the idea is to be able to plan ahead how we are going to use our Engineeers/Scientists/Prophets.

EDIT: Oh, and as for the matter of attacking. I would have wanted to attack sooner...but no one was even close! That and I find attacking cities are paisn without siege weps. Anyway, what we've been doing is setting up a firm economic basis to playout the rest of the game. After we get the GL and the HG, we'll no longer have to worry about building Wonders we want. Infact, we'll likely have so many GE we'll be hard pressed to find a Wonder for them to build. After you finish building the HG in London and GL in Nottingham, lets build some Swords and Catapults and send Ragnar packing!

Pish, back in the office. I really want to play, dammit!
...but I don't think I can gripe to my home ISP just because one site won't work.

Vra, I saw the idea of keeping the GP pool clean and I agree with it. I have just one question: is the NE really necessary? It will pollute the pool with GA points.
And about our first Prophet... Isn't it better to make him create the Confuscian shrine?

About attacking, if your opponent doesn't have Feudalism and Longbowmen, you have nothing to fear. CR axes ROCKS! :) But I see your point on the distance.

@Robo: can't you download the save and the discussion on your work and send home via e-mail or something? And you make the report at home, send via the same method to work and post there. If you can upload the images to imageshack at home, you'll just have to copy/paste and press the button!

In the grand scheme of things, it's impossible (and often unfeasiable) to keep a GP completely clean. What we can do however, is keep it to the lowest possible point by which we still get Engineers unless the bad luck gods hate us.

Your right, it will add GA points. But, not that many. After the HG, their will be a base of 5 GE points, as opposed to just 1 GA points per turn. So, what I'm saying is this. Yes, there will be a small amount of pollution. But I'd rather have a guareenteed Great Person every 15 turns that will most VERY VERY likely be a GE, than get one every 30+ turns that would almost assuredly be a GE.

That is not 100% true. As we are Philo, we already have 100% bonus. The NE gives another one. So, if we have 5 base GPP/turn, we will have 15GPP/turn instead of 10GPP/turn. I'm not a personal fan of the NE. I almost never build it.
Enough talking. We need some action. Wait for about 6 hours for an update. ;)

I otoh always build it...In this case, it provides a 33% bonus to our GE production...anyway it seems its rather clear which side of the fence we sit:P

Anyone with an opinion?

I also almost always build National Epic so mark me down in the "build it" column. And definitely mark me as being strongly in favor of using our first prophet for a shrine. We're talking free money, folks.

375: A Holy man who was ready to devote his life to God popped up, so Lizzie allowed him to see if he can further the cause of religion in Nottingham.

Seeing how I keeping seeing that 'make a shrine' comment...

I knew I had said I mentioned it somewhere :p

Yeah, the Prophet popped up in 375 BCE, and we had a Shrine in 350 BCE.

Thus why I've been saying to add the next prophet as a Super Specialist in Nottingham as well.:)

Turnset played! Well, half turnset played....
I have to travel for work tomorrow, so I had to be quick today.. I'll be back on Thursday, tho.

Summary:
Revolted to OR and Representation. Although, without any specialists running. Hastings will finish Library soon and will be able to run our first.
Alex cancels open borders and Ragnar circuncises himself and becomes Jew. I see trouble on the way....
I traded with freddy right after the end of Anarchy. Built the Aqueduct in London. The Hanging Gardens are due in 5 (or 6) can't remember..

I didn't know what to do with the Workers near London (they chopped a forest on the turn before) so I left them for the next player to move.

Hadn't hear from Woobi, even PMing him. So, Frankcor, it seems you're up until Robo comes back!

Now, the smallest full autolog ever:

Just for further reference:

ROSTER
1. Robo Kai (auto-skip)
2. fbelintani (just played)
3. Woobi (Missing!)
4. frankcor (up for 10-15)
5. vra379971 (on deck)

Maybe we need another player...

Hey - that is a nice looking log that you have going there. I guess it is not possible to keep things fenced in during construction / update :D I note that it isn't the final version but at least it looks like one of the release candidates.

Did someone say another player? I maybe able to help with that.

I'm up in 2 other SGs before I can pick this one up -- my mom always told me 5 SGs was too much for anybody to handle.

So if Atomic Betty thinks that this ruff_hi guy is capable enough, he can go next in the rotation ::glyph of frankcor ducking, grinning, running like hell::

@FB: Well, if we can conquer our continent before Redcoats we can build in peace before we launch our offensive against the New World. And it does help to be miles ahead of tech so that they don't even have Uranium.

Ok ruff_hi, you may pick up and play.

ROSTER
1. Robo Kai (auto-skip)
2. fbelintani (just played)
3. Woobi ruff_hi (up for 10-15)
4. frankcor (maybe up for 10-15 if ruff_hi doesn't pickup)
5. vra379971 (on deck)

Welcome to the team ruff_hi!

A debate I wanted to start. What are we going to do as regarding Ragnar. Namely his city to our south. I'd rather not let him sit there with a colony so close...And just a thought. We're dealing with Beserks and Phalanx as UU's...So perhaps a mixed Sword/Crossbow/Catapult force?

Robo - let me skip this round so that I can read up on what you are doing. Or I might be able to play tomorrow if you can stand to wait.
