RNES1 - Back to Games with UNITS!

To: The Kaiser of Prussia
From: Francis II of the House Habsburg and Emperor of Austria
Subj: Alliance

Despite our differences over the German states, I strongly reccomend an alliance between our nations. The threat of the Russian bear that looms in the East and the battles over the Sea with Italy dot the horizon.

The fates of Germany and Austria are one and the same, I can assure you, good Kaiser. With our fates inexorable entwined, it is vital that we cooperate to the fullest extent to absolve our weakness of central powers. By allying together, we can cut our enemies and increase our numbers.

As a sign of friendship, I request you allow my nation to claim its rightful territories in Silesia (province 39). The ownership of such a territory will prevent much war between our nations, and cements our comradery as eternal.

I hope you will agree to this proposal.

Consul_Thud. i am VERY glad you sent orders. i had actualy started the update already, but i much prefer using your orders as apposed to doing them for you (knowing what everyone else did, its hard not to 'cheat'). however, there is some probs with your orders. sent you a pm, please reply

sorry, ignore what was here.

got all orders. but some had some slightly confusing parts. sent pms to those i had questions for. if i didnt get an answer back then i had to guess what you meant. if i got it wrong i'm sorry, but its sort of your fault too. i wont change it around because i think in every case my assumption cost you a unit.

Turn 3 and we have 4 battles.

Iceland (51)
Britains logic seems to have been: its closer to my lands so its mine. The vikings seemed to think that Iceland goes along with Denmark and thought it their's by right. The forces came from different sides of the island and met in the middle. The Vikings were lucky to have noticed the British army from over a hill before the British spotted them so they had the advantage of surprise on their side and won relatively easily.
Rolls: 5 vs 2

Sardinia/Corsica (26):
The leaders of Carthage decided that they need lands outside of Africa and sent a massive force(2 armies) to Sardinia. The Italians considered the islands theirs by decleration and sent only one army. The native citizenry seemed to side with the Italians and warned them of the size of the Carthigian army. It helped but not enough. After a brief but very bloody battle, the Carthage army overwhelmed the Italians.
Rolls: 5, 1 vs 6

Croatia (42):
The Austrians held true to their claim of "Prepare to die." They sent a whopping 5 armies to the territory and completely overwhelmed the 2 Turkish armies there.
Rolls: 6,5,5,3,3 Vs 2,1
btw thats 5 kills vs none.

Province 57:
Prussia tried to keep the Russian bear at bay by taking province 57. unfortunatly it was too late, the Russians had already amassed a large force and invaded the territory. The Prussians did their best, but it was only enough to reduce the size of the russian force, not enough to win the battle.
Rolls: 6,4 Vs 5

Gold to spend:
Russia 32
Vikings 13
Britain 20
France 17
Spain 26
Carthage 28
Italy 20
Austria 14
Prussia 24
Turkey 20

EDIT: map deleted to conserve server space. If you're reading the game and want to see the maps, please PM me, i have a zip of all the maps.

To Russia and germany: I urge you not to fight there are more important enemies to do so against.

To Vikingland: Give us Iceland!

To the syphillic Turkish Sultan:

You have been defeated. Surrender 44 to us and we will not continue with our great conquering of your nation.

To: Spain
From: France

I suppose you didn't hear me? I said to not move into 12 or 13. Surrender 12 to me or I will take this as an act of war.

Russia:
to Vikingland:
Would you need help in the coming war?

to Germany:
Why oh Why? You are still welcome to take 58 and sign peace.

to Turkey and Austria:
This are our borders, respect them.

to France:
Ig germany desides a war, we will hope you will respect your DPP with us.

ORDERS LATER

To Russia: We seek only Iceland, If the people of Scandinavia can;t accpet that then it will be war. We ask for you to sign a full alliance with us.

to Britian:
From Russia:
Our allies in Vikingland have this island, so this is the border, but they didn't took what is theirs in Finland.

to Vikinland:
We just saw you didn't entered your areas...
We will enter 65 as a punisjment, as germany could take it instead of us...
It will be returned in 5 turns.
SO DONN'T ENTER 65

To Russia: Iceland is soverieng British terrioty being closer to Britian than Scandinavia. We shall take it with or without your help.

to Britian:
We have an alliance with Vikingland, and not with you.
So we will help them (while punishing them) against you by doing what they want.

to Vikingland:
Don't forget, only in turn 8 you could have land 65, becouse you didn't took it this year. If you will enter it will be not listening to your punishment and we will declear war.
(I would say, wait for turn 8, I never lie about stuff like that, And I won't need for so much time that area, it will be annoying to defend it...)
We will help you against britian if you wish.

To:France
From:Spain

If you're not able to defeat the locals in 12,that's not our problem. If you wish war with mighty Spain, you can have it.

To:Carthage and Britain

I propose an alliance between our 3 fine nations.

havent read any of the orders yet, though i have a few of them already.

i think there will be quite a bit of transporting and marine attacks this turn so i think i'll list what can and cant be done just so people dont misread the rules and send orders that dont work.

a province that is neutral can be 'attacked' by new or old units and you dont need to clear any 'enemy' the ships in the sea you are attacking from.
a province that belongs to someone (colored) can only be attacked by 'veteran' armies. so you cant build armies and send them over seas to attack your enemies territory.
ANY (new or veteran) ship can transport armies. however in order to attack enemy territory from the sea there have to be no ships of that nation in the sea you're attacking from.
so THIS IS IMPORTANT if you build 5 (or any number) ships and send a large force over seas to attack a enemy territory if there is even 1 ship of the enemy in that sea, then your troops will stay on the ships. your new ships cant attack the enemy ship, and so cant get rid of it and so they cant land their troops. (and new ships CAN defend shores, they just cant attack enemy ships).

also if you and your enemy build fleets and send them to the same sea with orders to "destroy any of that countries ships" it wont work, the two fleets will sit there and do nothing, because neither can attack (so neither has to defend).

so the basic strategy for defending your shores would be:
you cant get attacked by ships you dont see on the map already. so if you build enough ships to defend from the ships he already has, then you have no worries.

also, i dont remember how i said it in the rules (will edit in a few mins if needed) but i've decided, that even if you are at war with a nation and you both send 'veteran' ships to the same sea, the ships will NOT fight unless atleast one of you specificaly orders it.
think of this as "the captains dont like putting their ships in danger, so they wont get into a fight unless they get ordered to do so or get attacked"

so if you have veteran ships and are building more, then when you order them around, it would help if you specify which are new and which are veteran.
it makes sense to have new ones defend your shores (they will only fight if they get attacked by people trying to invade). and send your veteran ships to attack the enemy.

To: Britain
From: Vikingland
You will not get Iceland. Live with it. However, if the price is right, oyu coul buy it from me.

To: Russia
From: Vikingland
DO NOT TAKE 65! IF you take it it will be war. You apply faulty logic, there is no way that anyone else then you and me could take that land in any forsee able future.

To: Prussia
From: Vikingland
We could use your help against Britain and possibly Russia.
