Role Play Challenge:Ramesses the Intolerant: Battle of the Builders

Intolerant Ramesses and the Battle of the Builders: Part VII

Thebes nuts indeed! A massive wonderspammed capital with all but 6 wonders, Versailles, and the coastal dependent Colossus in it!

Still, the game is NOT over yet, but we have greatly moved in that direction!

We started off by mostly building wonders, a factory/plant production base, and military.

Soon

RamH0000.jpg

And assuming our next target Qin will put up a fight we decide to give our vassal

RamH0001.jpg

This worked well as Qin's power number fell fast during the war (Oh yes, we did make war!) without losing a single city to HC!

Techpath went: Assembly Line/Fascism (for the free GG)/RR/Combustion/Industrialism/Artillery/Biology/Plastics/Computers and startedd Fission (MUHAHAHAHA!)

Then we popped a few more wonders

RamH0002.jpg

And

RamH0003.jpg

And

RamH0004.jpg

Ramesses certainly liked this one of himself!

Bismark recommended we go in this direction which we certainly agree with!

RamH0005.jpg

Which we followed up with the old Incan invasion force.

RamH0006.jpg

By this point we were building tanks for an amphibious assault of the southern Chinese areas.

And another Wonder

RamH0007.jpg

Emancipation unhappiness! Ha! What is that with plays, music, and television all showing the world the glories of Ramessesism!

So anyway, back to China. FDR decided to dogpile Qin, which helped us as he brought alot of navy and fortunately no armies!

Ramesses was very eagar to get his hands on those final Wonders so he bypassed several Chinese cities to hit the two with wonders.

RamH0009.jpg

RamH0012.jpg

Sure there was alot of culture pressure and many Chinese starved to death here, however that was a worthy sacrifice in honor of the Holy Ramesses!

And here you can see the final wonder

RamH0013.jpg

At this point Ramesses owns ALL wonders and pretty much cannot lose anymore.

We get this wonder

RamH0014.jpg

And find we are up against Bismark, our old semi-friend.

RamH0015.jpg

And we win election by a decent margin

RamH0016.jpg

OK, if we get Qin on board and perhaps put the smackdown on Stalin we can pull off a diplomatic win afterall. Of course after we nab all the remaining wonders!

AT this point we healed, waited for reinforcements, and overran some more chinese cities.

RamH0017.jpg

RamH0020.jpg

After that final one Qin was willing to talk.

RamH0021.jpg

Followed by his former colony.

RamH0022.jpg

To Be Continued............

Intolerant Ramesses and teh Battle of the Builders: Part VII continued

So after acquiring our third vassal (to offset that 2 unhappiness from no emancipation).

RamH0023.jpg

We saved here to ponder where to go.

A map of our empire

RamH0024.jpg

And just for your info, the Russian lands.

RamH0025.jpg

Victory conditions.

RamH0026.jpg

Cultural seams far off. Domination means ALOT of work. Space seams faster than Domination. But I still think Diplomatic is an appropriate win here!

The city screen shows the monster Thebes, and those supplemental cities.

RamH0027.jpg

Internet followed by the Manhatten Project. A question regarding teh Space Elevator, do I need Apollo Built before I can built that thing????

Demographics.

RamH0028.jpg

WHAT, Approval of only 4!!!! Do not my people know who is the God-King!!!!!!!!

And finally, the monster city of Thebes!

RamH0029.jpg

OK, I think it's a matter of bringing this thing home. 1 wonder, 2 projects, maybe Apollo. Maybe smash some Germans or Russiona to get enough yeah votes!

Wonder economies are pretty much the best. Or at least the funnest. My next game will be a WE with Ramesses... it's been a while.

And I understand not wanting to slog through a pointless military victory. Go ahead and take diplomatic or if that doesn't work, space.

You do need Apollo program for the space elevator. What's worse, it can only be built near the equator, and I think thebes is to far south...

Well as long as a city can build it it doesn't really matter, MadScientist should have nearly built his ship by then.

I vote space race win, show the power of your mega production city to build SS parts fast, then spread Rammeseism to another planet, and get building Wonders there too.

I tried last game and I couldn't build the Space Elevator before Apollo.

I am pretty sure you could build Space Elevator before Apollo.
But Thebes is definitively far too south.

As a shadower, I can guarantee it's too far south. I wound up sticking it in one of my German conquests.

Mad got a lot more wonders than me though  (er...more like he BUILT more haha). I only had better production because I opted IW over oxford.

You should let Thebes work on making gold and buy the Space Elevator almost like thebes building it :D

You should let thebes grow, two unworked farms and a happy cap margin of 14, grow thebes into the worlds largest city.

Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. Building wonder is, well, tedious. the most fun is building an uber army and smashing your rivals into oblivion.

But then that why this is such a great game, because you can win in so many different styles!

Berlin or your Stone/Fish/Cow city on the NE of the Rammses island is the furthest south Space El can be built.

Thanks. Since That's where a few other wonders are I will likely built it there. Also I have the IW national wonder there which should speed it along.

Regarding which type of games are fun, well they all are! WonderSpamming with Ramesses, World conquering with Napoleon, Nuking with PAcal, they all great! Spending 35 hours fighting myself as Sury resulting in an accidental domination win is just :crazyeye:

By the way, I love this series, I read every thread even though I don't post a lot. The Sury one was very neat. I love your spelling, too.

Most of the pics in the last update don't work....

Works for me ;) Maybe check your browser settings...
