Intolerant Ramesses and the Battle of the Builders: Part II
Ramesses is definitely one of the strongest and most fun wonderspammers in the game!!!! I don't blame Obsolete one bit for favoring him!
Onto the wonders of the game and the founding of RAMESSESISM!!!!!!!!
Ramesses the Almighty starts the round by finishing off the Great Wall.
Avoiding problems with Barbs abd allowing us to rely on warriors for now and a few war chariots later. We put all that production into massive wonder building, all the honor our great God-King.
Techpath went Priesthood/Pottery/Monotheism/writing/hunting/sailing/archery/and start math.
After the Great wall we began the pyramids, then swapped to the oracle which quickly led to
Of course we took Metal Casting for free. Early cheap Forges and a head start on the Colossus in one of the coastal cities!
We soon got our first GP
well, the price for not fully utilizing the UB right away. Still not bad, and we settled him. I will run prists in the next segment, but for now we focus on population in Thebes.
And surpisingly we finally found
YES!!!!!!!! Ramsessesism, and we got it ourselves! Ramesses drools over the idea of a shrine, but the rules do dictate settling all specialists. We shall hjave to see whether we need to rethink this, but for now Prophets get settled in Thebes.
And soo after the Oracle
Can't have a Ramesses wonderspamming game with the old Pyramids! Amazingly took only about 30 turns at marathon speed!
Now there is one issue
Yes, we lost out on the GL. Delayed sailing way too long, but we cannot have everything!
We changed civics.
No slavery yet. We are Spiritual and can swap to it just before we need it to avoid all those slave revolts.
We meet the next AI
Ah, Qin the master of the Backstab! However, come Bureacracy we shall have his favorite civic so maybe he could be a valued ally!
And here is a view of Thebes, just before completion of the ToA wonder.
Other cities I am developing rather normally, with some early cottages. While I am a fan of Obsoletes ideas, I do think it's better to develope other cities normally and plntifully!
And...
A grand wonder for this type of game. The free Priest will help alot to get many GPs!.
We built settlers in the other two cities, once we got some triemes (another benefit of early MC!). Our fourth city.
Right on the Jumbos. Yes I have settled 2 cities so far ontop of resources.
The next leader does not like us so much.
Apparently there is a strong Buddhist influence in this game. But fear not, we shall teach these unbelievers to fear and cower before the granduer of Ramessessism!!!
And while I prefered NOT to let the MC genei out of the bottle, this deal was just too good to pass up.
And do we have iron, or are we cursed to have no metals like the earlier Pericles game.
Of course Ramesse has blessed his people with teh gift of Iron!!
On the same turn we popped our second GP
A GE, 3 hammers and 6 beakers!!!! All game long!!!
We saved here, and let's look at where we are at
So far doing very well in tech! representation is overpowered this early, especially when we are getting those beakers from only settled GPs so far!
Ramesses is a little perturbed seeing one city missing Ramessesism!
And cities.
Note we have only 30 turns left for the Colossus. Hopefully Qin is still building a forge and we can outrace him to it.
So here we are! 5 cities already, with spots for at least 3 more good ones. Perhaps a few islands somewhere.
So the list
1) Some defense to "deter" the Ais from eying all of Ramesses's nice shiney wonders.
2) Spamming Missionaries to at least Bismark, and perhaps Qin (if I can find him). Ramesses certainly wants more followers, and some allies cannot hurt.
3) Next of the great wonder hit list! Well, with math I say an aqueduct and the HG. Then hit the Aesthetics/Literature route.
4) Find the GLH owner.
Bow and honor the Great Ramesses!!!!
