Role Play Challenge, TNG: Julian Assange, WikiCivilization

Thank you Mad for hosting this exciting and interesting game.

And thank you to TMIT for doing a lets play of this game on his youtube channel.

TMIT I have been subscribed to your youtube channel for sometime, and I love your CivIV and SC II commentary. Had it not been for you I would have missed this game.

Thanks, both of you guys.

*grabs some popcorn and awaits the end from Mad's playthrough.*

By the way, I see that my influence is much more underrated than even I expected. First Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize after doing nothing so I am forced to believe it was due to my Obama RPC. Now I hear Wiki-Leaks has been nominated for the Nobel peace prize, obviously my ability to unite the world against the Persians lead by a Madman has gained notice.

What next????

Obviously, just touch something and it will turn into gold :goodjob:.

You could do a LP with the Egyptians as Mubarak with some strange rules like no happiness other than religion, slavery , police state, Bureaucracy and OR
and see if he get the peace prize too :mischief:

A David Cameron RPC! It Might help fix our economy! (which needs serious fixing)

You aren't allowed to ever be running Negative Gold. EVAH!! And you have to Build Markets, banks, and grocers in every city. And Adopt Free Market, Free Religion, and Herederitary rule as soon as they are unlocked, and stay in them all game. (perhaps caste as well, if you beleive what some people say over here) I'm not sure exactly how hard this would be though.

British :)

It's maybe difficulty +1, certainly doable for the experienced on most levels.

If were throwing ideas about for other RPCs how about a Jacque Fresco RPC,hes an interesting fella. You could start in the industrial age with only space and diplo to go for.Civics you have to be in would probably be Rep/freespeech/serfdom/enviromentalism/pacifism.Rules might be something like your not allowed to build banks, corporations or adopt a religion and you have to gift all excess resources to the poorest civs.No forest or jungle chopping either.

@madscientist,jumping the gun abit as this RPC isnt concluded yet but Ive enjoyed this one and looking forward to whatever you decide to do for the next one.

I am glad to see you back Madscientist. Shadowing your game with couple of additional rules for my game. No tech trading after trading alphabet with AI, only stealing and no giving in to demands.

Obviously only reason no one attacked so far was because couple of stacks of vultures keeping borders protected. I am heading to space so I am going to run a spy specialists for both science and spy points.

Spoiler :
So settled in place and played to 600 AD. No wars, settled 9 cities and captured 1 barb cities.

Built Mids, Gwall, SoZ(planing for future wars) and watching Monti attacking Sullie.

This game was very unnerving at the begining. But very impressed with espianage game. Built Stonehenge by mistake while hoping for faliure gold. Got a Gprophet. He and a GE and a Gspy is settled in cap where a spy academy is built. Has tech parity with all but Hatty and Monty. She has 3 over me but I have about 1200 points on her. Great concept Mad and thanks for the Espionage eye opener.

Shadowed as well

Spoiler :
Plotted the first city on the hill next to Montyland, to block, then expanded a bit, /stonesite, the niice riversites etc.
However, beating Monty to that spot appearantly pissed him off, so he declared relatively early. He send wave after wave after wave after .....you get the picture, me loosing next to nothing, however, he kept demanding my city for peace
I go tired of this, so , I bribed De Gaulle into the war, since was dropping in diplo towards me, I exspected a dow from him soon. He took ONE city from Monty, then Monty rolled over and capped to DG :aargh:
Turn after, DG dows Hatty, and caps her easy too, she lost 2 cities, then she rolled over.
On the VERY next turn, Sully peacevassaled to DG, leaving me staring down a 4barreled shotgun , so I threw in the towel :P
Im not TMIT or Mad, who maybe could have pulled a war like that off :p
At least I cant at that stage

Soo, looking forward to next segment :)

I meant I wasn't sure wether it would actually be a challenge for him.

Waiting :coffee:

There are some time issues with both home and work so I really am not going to have time to finish this RPC anytime soon. I need ta least a week away if not longer, sorry for the delay.

Sorry to hear about the delay in the RPC, but glad to see you have your priorities in order. :)

Just to contribute to the thread...

Inspired by this game, and TMIT's video, I decided to try Espionage route (get the Great Wall, stop teching at Alphabet, steal everything) - it's just amazing how powerful a mechanism this can be!

I used new maps (Fractal) setting; because I hadn't played Civ 4 for a while, the first game was at Prince level. It turned out to be a Continents map, which made it easy to get to the other civs to steal techs. -) Domination win just about the time cannons came in. Espionage plus city revolts makes for powerful catapults and trebs. And it's surprising how slowly the other civs seem to tech...

It became sort of funny - you know how other civs often won't trade techs, for one reason or another? Well, with espionage, it's a non-issue; you pretty much can steal things the first turn after they've got it. And they can't use the excuse "We fear you have stolen too much already"! -)

The 2nd game was at Emperor; Emperor was the highest level I'd played at (and won); anything higher seemed like too much work to win. -) Still, the espionage route made it almost a snap to win, even after some initial disadvantages - I was boxed in by Sury (and attacked by him), and Sury and Sitting Bull were the only civs I had contact with till Optics. Once I'd eliminated Sury (heh), I only had SB left to steal from -(

One I got overseas, the other 4 civs were all way ahead in tech, and it took so long to get spies over there one at a time on caravels... But - the other civs all had astronomy and settled a big island near me, thank you! Much easier, and less costly, to steal.

Because I get tired of modern combat, I decided Julian wanted a space victory. After enough stealing techs, I was the tech 'leader' sort of, and ended up giving techs away just so the other civs would research something new. -)

By the end of the game (Space Victory), I was rolling in dough, generating 5000+ esp points per turn, and had build 11 Scotland Yards.

What an amazing way to win, stealing techs (and the occasional treasury, for extra funds). Thanks, Mad and TMIT!.

I'm not a very good roleplayer. I annihilated Monty right away, burning almost every city to the ground.

My first act in every game that I see him is to attack right away, trying to get the knives in first. Still got a few civs to spy on!
