Role Play Challenge, TNG: Julian Assange, WikiCivilization

FWIW I put a city in that exact same spot, although I prioritized hill cities on my eastern/southeastern borders a LOT more than you have; long term experience fighting against some of the game's biggest jerks leads me to conclude that the strategic advantage of obvious hill target cities to such AIs is too valuable to pass up.

Ah ok, thanks.

Bump, we can't have an ALC going to the second page. NONONONO.

Damn spies poisoned the water of my city. Mental breakdown, I meant RPC of course. Sorry mad :p

I have been a bit busy this week, I'll play the next segment today or tomorrow.

Looking forward mad :D

allways good with an update :D

Played the next segment and will post tomorrow!

Meanwhile, here is the save.

Subscribing. I was interested in learning how to use espionage more effectively, but never dreamed of doing so from so early!

You will see with the update later but to be honest I am having more of an issue having the AIs tech enough to steal things.

Maybe you wrote off building Libraries too early? Scientist specs could get you some of the early techs, and allow you to bulb others with GSs.

Yes, this problem is/was not exclusive to you...but that shouldn't keep the map from being winnable, it's just going to involve some perhaps unusual tactics :p.

Mad/TMIT/other shadowers,

What victory condition are you going for? Domination seems most likely, although I think it would be entertaining to watch at least one of you go for space. ("Stupid AI!! Research fusion already so I can launch!") If you really don't have anything to do with your EP, note that it is possible to push a city to legendary culture with espionage before capturing it. I've seen a SG cultural win played that way--I'll have to see if I can dig up the link.

EDIT: Thanks for the game, and for sharing your experience! I'm learning a lot.

EDIT^2: Found the SG link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=336966

That's pretty darned funny, really.

I still wonder...
you are actually forbidden to use Scientists and build research eventually? I think it's a little bit too strict...

would be pretty tough to fight AI's without actual military advantage if you block completely your own research...

The only rule is getting the slider off science, so scientist specialists are out. However, I plan to have some fun here. As always a victory in an RPC is not essential, perhaps I can think of other things to do.....

Early yet.

TMIT, I am avoiding your shadow but man I am biting at the bit! Looks foreward to reading it later.

Sorry but i still don't understand you... setting slider to 0% doesnt mean to not employ scientists in libraries/through caste... just am very confused...

it can be freely rule #2 if you wish (no employed scientist), but I don't see it as implied through rule #1... just nitpicking I know, but for me it's important if I want to somehow shadow the game (even if I plan to do it with other leader etc)

My shadow is video form...the thread itself doesn't have much in terms of spoilers. After your next round or so part 1 should be safe for you.

Also, most VCs are possible, including culture (you can really gouge culture corps + build culture and get a respectable /turn while hampering everyone else), but by far military is the quickest/most practical approach...though diplo is attractive too.

Probably this is one of his classical typo/confusing sentences . According to the rules scientists are fine, though I didn't want any CRAPPY scientist pollution :p.
