RPG rule-discussions

I'll post this later today. Feedback is appreciated before that.

RPG - Economy/Salary base
Poll question/options
Do you prefer a stable economy or a fluctuating economy?
  • Stable - salary paid per chat
  • Fluctuating - salary paid per game turn
  • Abstain

First Post
Our economy will follow the money in the system. This comes only from salaries. If we base salaries on a per chat basis the amount of money coming into the economy will be very stable and predictable. If we base it on a per game turn basis the economy will fluctuate up when there are more turns/chat and down when there are less turns/chat.

Note that this decision does not affect the relative salaries in any way. Prices will still need to be set based on how much money is coming into the economy regarless of which system is used.

If this poll results in a majority of "per game turn" responses, the RPG rules will be modified to accomodate. The relative costs for opening businesses and taking loans will remain unchanged.

Hmmm. Maybe not so partial in the poll title if possible?
Something like "turnly or chatly payment".
Or maybe just skip the work "fluctuating" in comparison to "stable", as for me this "fluctuating" means BAD. "stable" means GOOD.
just maybe use "fixed" and "variable" or something.

SIDENOTE:
Just that we all noticed: We still need to recalculate or at least check the payments anyways!

So for as long as the poll runs, would it make sense discussing how long it should take citizens to build what? We can out of that create the prices really quick.

Like for example:
"a small business must be foundable as second business within one term by a single citizen", which would mean on
turnly base:
10gpt*10*2*4=800gold
(10base*10turnsperchat*2chatsaweek*4weeksamonth).
turn-chatly base:
10gptc*2*4=80gold
(10base*2chatsaweek*4weeksamonth)

Hmmm...

Stable and Fluctuating are the market terms but there are probably a lot of people playing that won't catch that.

I guess Fixed Salary / Variable Salary would work.

By the way...in economics stable is good and fluctuating is bad. We are deciding which we want for our economy. Perhaps those terms are the ones that best represent the true options? ;)

Where does is fluctuate to? I think fixed and variable is more honest without predefining a flavor to it ;-)

Btw: The TC-Version may also be "fluctuating", as the dp can setup as many chats as he likes ;-) Maybe someone makes 7 turnchats a week with only 2 turns each? Or what will happen if we do not have turnchats?
