Got it. So there is only one rule (declare war on city stealing a tile from one of our BFCs and never rest until the offending city is razed), right?

First, a BUG feature:
Nicely done, you can have an overview of your city in one glance. I just hope there are bubble text describing each icon (took me a while to figure out which one represent the number of turns a city will grow). Can the whipping penalty be added there as well?
Now, the actual game. No war, no nothing. I am simply in a growth mode. For that, I got us monarchy:
and connected a wine resource. Once metal casting is in, I started some forges as well to add one more happy face due to gold. Calendar is out there for grab as well, suggest looking for opportunity to do that.
And the growth is not limited to vertical growth ... we grow horizontally as well:
Our current state of empire, with 2 more cities to go to complete the Ring.

In the other news, be prepared to start a war with the Southern chinese as well.
And peace returns to the world.

This game has stalled for long enough. Time for some action again, huh ?
I plunge into the game by checking city screens and adjusting some things. Overall we're fine. Speaking of city screens, one nice new feature of the BUG Mod:
Here you see the whip anger counter. Basically you can see at first glance when the whipping anger will recede. Add to this an alert that will tell you that your whip anger has gone away and even that you can whip things and you'll use Slavery more efficiently than ever !
Aside from this great feature we got a visit from Sitting Bull:
As the AIs say: No, we don't want to spread away that technology yet.
Roosevelt was sent packing too:
The Monopoly still holds !
Machinery came in. Calendar would be of immediate need, but with all this warring we want our uber-Samurais ASAP. Civil Service then !
Speaking of warring, Roosey had declared on poor Qin earlier. His situation got worse though:
City razed on turn 1 of the war.
Qin was kind enough to equip us with 4 fresh and free workers.
Next city razed.
Roosey wanted help because Izzy declared on him, but we're not ready for a war on 2 fronts yet.
I whipped some courthouses and revolted to Hereditary Rule, our cities must grow ! I also started another Settler for completing the Ring sooner. I recommend driving into Qins core and finish him off entirely as he is quite weak now.

Great job showing the chinese who is the master in this region ...
But I am doubtful abt finishing Qin. Since we are not capturing his cities, we do not incur any "homeland yearn", so we might wanna just keep him around to serve as buffer (in case someone else settle nearer, making an enemy rather than friend). He is weak anyway, just get to his core cities, razed them and he would remain weak throughout the game.

Got it. I'll play tomorrow night. So it looks like I'll be puttin' the hurt on Qin a little more and found the last city in the ring. Any other plans?

We actually need two more cities for the ring (both the E and W cities). Also, technically, we should be at peace with Qin as none of his cities are in our BFC. However, one of our southern cities is due to expand in 2 turns and Qin might have one of those tiles. Suggest we wait until it expands and go from there - keep waring if it does take a tile, sue for peace if it doesn't.

But the rule never says we have to stop the war once the offending city is removed.

GreyFox is right: there is no rule about peace. What if he'll only agree to peace if we cough up Metal Casting? Certainly you aren't suggesting we have to surrender, are you?

I think I found a happy medium. 
Meet the new Spanish neighbors. Looks like Isabella is coveting our wrath for Qin. Too bad for her. She has two cities pressing our borders and has encircled us to the North.
In the spirit of the game, I began to bring the troops home. Sadly for Hangzhou, they took the western route.
Stalin came calling and like all bad house guests began demanding wine. To keep our relationship civil I acceded to his request.
I set an alert to cut him off once he's had his fill. Much of my turns was spent building some Archers to stay ahead of the happiness caps. A couple events popped up: 251
for Engineering that I forgot to capture and vermin in the capital:
I also prepared our new eastern city site with roads for quick chopping of forests, but then I changed my mind and sent the Settler to the West. I didn't build the city, so feel free to send him back East.
After demolishing Hangzhou and ravaging the landscape, I made nice-nice with Qin for some cash and a tech.
He must have assumed this meant I cared about him, and two turns later he begged for Metal Casting. "Um, why are you talking to me?"
We completed Civil Service and I began Engineering on my second-to-last turn. Should we switch to Philosphy for Taoism? Oh, we no longer have our monopoly on Metal Casting; Saladin joined our exclusive club.
And Roosevelt is very close to discovering it himself as he offered a crazy trade: the cheaper Horseback Riding for MC and 300+
.

And finally the attitudes of all the crazy leaders. Notice the latest addition to BUG: a fist icon denotes any civs at war with each other.
For good measure, here is our empire from 30,000 feet.

I've got one comment. The next two cities are going to majorly suck for us. The one to the West has no good placement, so it doesn't really matter, but the one in the East might better serve us one tile further out. This would grab us the peak for visibility into Spanish lands and give us access to another grassland.
I'm just throwing it out there, but I'm totally fine with sticking to the circle.
So we have Spain pressing in from the East and Qin insisting on rebuilding to the South. At least he went back to his previous city site, giving him some extra time before war.
What's our plan? Are we going to continue this while going for a Space Race victory? We'll never get Diplomatic of course, but I guess there's always Cultural if we grab Taoism and Islam. Any ideas?

A note on the BUG mod -- the glance screen seems to report the wrong the values for the first row ... there seems to be a constant -ve offset throughout.
