The requirements are:
1) You must have your own legal copy of CIV for DOS.
2) CD writer.
3) Floppy disk drive.
4) Be able to UN-ZIP files.
5) Download a few files from the Internet.

The idea is to make a bootable CD. Using various free downloads, some old shareware programs. The evaluation version of an ISO program (maybe you will like it so much you will purchase it). Some programs I wrote to tie it all together. I have modified CIV$ to save the MAP & SVE files to floppy or FAT drive.

I have it working. It boots up and loads CIV onto a RAM-drive and runs it there. I got so tired of the slow movements in the various Windows environments (even Dosbox). The instructions will be cookbook style, no theory just the steps to do it. The poll is to see how much interest there is in this.

With DOSBox it runs perfectly in WinXP. It runs even better than it ever has in DOS! :D (The sound blaster used to silence a tune.)

I’m overwhelmed by the response for this – LOL, but anyway would the person who answered yes in the poll send me a private message. You are elected to be the Bata tester.

thanks!

There seems to be alot of CIV1 questions going around now.
I also have done the same mistake, but these posts really belong to the CIV1 forum (this is the CIVIII forum)

I AM SORRY!

I was totally confused and though I was in the CIV III forum for some reason

My humble apologies
