I see there are a couple cases like this on this board, but none of them got answered.
I cant run the install shell of AC. It just shows the splash screen and the bar, and then simply drop them, not saying anything at all. Compatibility settings do squat.
Oh, sure, i can just copy the files to HDD, and the game runs, but that means i wont be able to install SMAC:X, and playing AC without X is pretty much pointless today.
Anyone got this problem and defeated it, without resorting to extremities like VMWare ?
In my view - the Firaxis is just plain irresponcible. I believe it wouldnt even take a few days for someone who actually wrote the code for the game to fix OS compatibility issues, they just dont care. Lazy bums...
