A bit confusing title, couldnt think of anything more exact :p

Anyhow; I got 2 monitors, first one 1680x1050 natural resolution, second 1280x1024.

I recently bought a second (cheap) graphic card, so I can use the 2nd monitor while playing CivIV in fullscreen on first monitor.

That way I can browse/msn/whatever on 2nd screen.

(No im not running SLI, and yes you can have 2 graphic cards with 2 monitors on your PC)

My problem is that whenever I click on something on screen 2, CIV IV gets minimized; e.g. it behaves as you hit windows+tab.

Any workaround around this? or do I have to play in window mode?
Kindof defeats the purpose.

The same thing happens to me. I play poker online at the same time on the second monitor and it would be very helpful if it didn't minimize. However, I don't know how to stop it.

That is either driver- or DirectX dependent. Cince it is an issue common for all full-screen applications, I suggest you head over to anandtech.com and ask those guys.
Some of them are really computer-savvy.

Thanks will do that. Just thought that someone here would have a solution for it, as I would imagine several who play and post at the same time...

I play windowed.

you have to play in windowed mode.

but whats even funner is to play it using both! ;>)

Yes have used two monitors and you are right the only answer is windowed mode. You can play across the two screens if you set windows to stretch the desktop and use a custom resolution for Civ in the ini, but it's a horrible stretch for viewing the Civ screen IMHO.
