I used to be able to play Civilization IV and Civilization IV: Warlords with full graphics. I recently uninstalled for space on my computer and I then installed them again. Last night, I was trying to play, and after choosing my civilization and first seeing the stars of the "In the beginning" video, I get the following error:

"Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings.
File:\Source\Main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\C oreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9VBManager.cpp, Line:170"

I then click "OK" and see a new error that tells me that I have a runtime error and that Windows needs to shut down the program.

Note: This error occurs in standard games, mods, and scenarios in both Warlords and Vanilla.

I've already tried installing driver updates, it didn't work, and some of them didn't seem to be able to find the driver on my computer.

Okay, computer information:

So does anyone know of a solution to this problem? Any help I could get on this would be great.

Work through page one of the Fix It list (stickied). The date stamp on your current video driver is from 2003; that may take some work to update.

I have started doing that, and re-upgrading my video drivers (from ATI's website), it says that the All-in-Wonder 9000 was not present in my computer while installing an update. What is up with that?

Okay, I have run into some trouble installing updates for my video card. The ones from ATI's website say that I do not have a ATI All-in-Wonder 9000 on my system. What is this about?
