Hmmm....

Well maybe I can help win with Russia at Warlord. One of the countries I still don't know how to take advantage of there Civ combination (militrary / ?)

Sign me up.

Great Guys! I should have the game up tomorrow morning at the latest. 15-20 turns per person please. Thanks!

ALSO: If one more person still wants to join. Hurry Up!

We're off to a pretty good start. Moscow was established on the coast and St. Petersburg near 2 dyes. lkendter why don't you take it first and then it's yours Brian.

Note: Finish off the road to St. Petersburg and connect the dyes.
Note: Send the scout to the East as the West is just a big penninsula. Thanks!

Let me know how it goes!

MOTHER RUSSIA

Actually, they're expansionist and scientific. They're good for goody hut hunt, science and culture. I hope you're not stuck in an island; otherwise, you'll lose the expansionist advantage. How about some pictures for those of us following the game progress.
Good Luck!

Lee's first order is to will the animators :lol
Second order - Moscow is to build the Colusus. I don't want the granary, as I want to see the pyramids.

2950 BC - Worker reverses direction.

2900 BC - Working begins mining near Moscow. We are in depostism, and the irragation is a waste at this point.

2670 BC - We find an empty village :(

2630 BC - St. Petersburg finishes the warrior, and starts a settler.

2470 BC - I realize why I am so confused, and wait at end of turn is ON.

2150 BC - My final turn, and I spot the English. We buy Alphabet for an expensive $80, and $2/turn. However, I can't argue with a chance to improve science this early. We also know that we are not alone.

Summary - Moscow finishes Colossus in 3 turns, and Masonary finishes in 3 turns. You can immediately start the Pyramids. Settler in St. Petersburg in 5 turns, so you get to build a city.

Year 2150: Despot Brianov takes the Russian throne.

Brianov reviews the land, and notices several things.
1. the land is small. (I'm used to playing on large/huge maps!)
2. we need more military. immediately switches from Colossus to Warrior. (Just kidding Lee, heh)
3. an Alemanni barbarian appears next to our settler on my first turn. Moves him to safety.
4. above mentioned Barbarian will kill our worker in 2 turns unless we protect him.
5. Brianov has developed a disturbing habit of referring to himself in the 3rd person.

Year 2110:
After 40 years of deliberation, thinking over his options, Brianov decides the following:
He will allow the worker to continue with his mine,
Will move the warrior out of Moscow to save the day

Year 2070:
After 40 more years, the ancient Brianov looks out from his palace (the stone hut up on that hill) and sees the Colossus! He immediately orders a unit of Spearmen to be trained. He is informaed that his Sages have discovered how to build stone walls. Great! He orders that they discover what to do with those little rouund discs the children like playing with.

As expected, the Barb has approached our worker. Brian sends out the warrior to protect the worker, temporarily leaving the city of Moscow undefended!

Years 2030 - 1990:
The Barb tries to sneak past our valiat warrior! Our warrior wins but takes one hit. Our scout moves back into position, hopefully will not run into another barb so soon.. This is really slowing down our exploration. Brianov decides that having a spearman in Moscow is important to free up a warrior, even if it slows down the future construction of Pyramids. Brianov recosiders and takes away the spears from his new troops, giving them axes instead.. an extra unit and pyramids one turn closer..

Years 1950 - 1910:
Moved scout into position, with a warrior backup. Worker now working on roads to St. Petersburg. Settler in a whopping 12 turns! While Brianov is following Lees building plan, he hopes that the pyramids dont slow our growth too much as Moscow cannot build settlers for a long time..
With some minor tweaking of workers in St. Petes, we now have city growth in 4 turns (Instead of 2) but a settler in 6! Also, pyramids in 50, instead of 59!

Year 1870:
Moved Scout and Warrior to the east. Haven't seen anything new yet.

Year 1830:
From a mountaintop our scout sees.. more mountains! and an English warrior.. Brianov wonders just how close that English civ is.. After a quick chat with the English warrior,, we discover that they are equal to us in tech and cities..

Year 1790:
Moved units, worker gets closer to St Petes,

Year 1750:
Warrior and Scout part ways, scout goes south, warrior north, around the huge mountain range..

Year 1725:
Our warrior spots the barb villiage! However, the English warriors will probably get there first.. Our scout sees some nice land to his north, with grasslands and wheat. Great land, if we can get past that jungle!

Year 1700:
A barb spawns and defeats the feeble English warriors! Our warrior rushes to avenge our fallen friends. Scratch that! The scout is close to the barbs not the warrior! oops..
Our settler is done, moves him towards the little island to the east, starts another one.

Year 1675:
Moves scout away from barbs, Warrior towards them..

Year 1600:
Our warrior clears the Barbarian villiage and loots 25 gold!

Year 1575: (17)
Our settlers build Briangrad!
Our warrior sees gems to the south, but surrounded by mountains and jungle.
We want to get settlers to the southeast and northeast of Moscow as soon as possible to stop English settlers from squeezing in..

Year 1550:
Our Sages discover wheels! directed to discover writing next. Note to trade techs with English if possible. Briangrad has horses next to it! Worker will build road there next..
Our scout discovers a strange yellow line to his north.

Year 1525:
Our scout discovers a town called Heliopolis! It apparently is ruled by a despot called Cleo. Funny all civs so far are led by females..
Our warrior to the south discovers the English border! They are hampered by the mountains to their north, but the Egyptians to the north can expand south very quickly.. we need those lands! Had a chat with Cleo, Nice lady. Seems she hasnt discovered wheels or alphabet yet!

Year 1500:
The ancient Brianov line runs out. Coughing and sputtering, he whispers to his successor:
Settlers.. We need those lands before the Egyptians or English get them.. Don't trade tech yet, we have a lead ~~cough~~ ~~ack~~ Unless.. ~cough~~ they have something to trade with.. ~~gasp~~ English have Mysticism.. ~gak~ ~aaauughh~

I'm attaching the picture, hope it works!

We got slowed down in exploring by that barb.. I should have been able to get more mapped. However, not a bad start. The English and Egyptians, and everyone else I guess, are on that big continent. I didnt find a single village, but maybe the English and Egyptians beat us to them. Keep looking!

Briangrad is on a forest, so production bonus, plus full food! Not a bad site for a city, but we need more to the east fast!

have fun Mother Russia! You are up again right?

Oops, one more thing..

I suggest trying to tweak the production in Moscow to shorten the wait for Pyramids.. maybe get the worker back to mine the cow square..

Give me more soldiers, noble leader, that we may sheathe our swords into the beating hearts of our enemies! :D

We have an interesting decision for city directions!

We want to those silks from the north, but our competion for good land is in the east. I think I heard the word gems. St. Petersburg will be building settlers for a long time. We probably will need a second worker soon.

Get use to wonders from me. I have more then once pulled of a 20000 culture city. The world will just love me.

I know, if I had my turn to do over, I'd send our settler to the wheat fields.. I think the silks can wait a bit anyway.. noone has mapmaking yet so cant get up there for a bit!

Our production sucks.. maybe switch St. Petes to worker?

Good luck Zed-F!

Hey guys, I think I'm gonna have to skip this turn, my HD threw a sector right in the middle of the Windows OS last night & I'm not going to be able to do anything until I can repair the damage.

Cya next time 'round the loop!

I think ST. Pete needs another settler. Then we may want worker #2. We are mainly in expansion mode.

If Mother Russia finishes fast, I can move tonight.:king:

1500 BC- After the death of Brianov I, Mother Russia II took control of Russia. Her first act as Czarina was to change the city in the northwest's name. Briangrad was not it's rightful Russian name and so it was changed back to Kiev as it should have been. Sorry Brian. I had to, it was driving me nuts.

1450 BC- Russian Explorers discover horses near a lake, south of Egypt. Mother Russia proclaims that "She will ride one of them before her reign is up." Unfortunately, she won't.

1425 BC- Workers complete a road bringing precious dyes into Moscow. The people of Moscow rejoice.

1400 BC- More gems are discovered just north of London. When Mother Russia finds out she wails "Wretched English, how I loathe to see them filling their pockets with those precious stones that belong around my neck!"

1350 BC- Wine is discovered in the hills east of Russia and south of Egypt. Mother Russia is overjoyed with the news as she is a heavy drinker. To celebrate she has a glass of cheap wine or two or three or.........

1325 BC- Kiev (Formerly Briangrad) builds warrior and can now defend itself. Production is immediately changed to settler.

1250 BC- The English call upon great Russia to accept a trade of Iron Working for 70 gold. Mother Russia finds this to be acceptable, but would like to see if they could get more out of the deal. The final deal ends up being that the English give Iron Working and Mysticism and the Russians give a total of 158 gold. Mother Russia immediately goes and has a suit made of iron made for her. She puts it on and discovers it is much too heavy for her weak bones and ends up hiding it in a closet.

1225 BC- Iron is discovered in the hills on the peninsula north of Moscow. Mother Russia is overjoyed and proclaims "Russia will use the iron to build mighty armies with swords and armor! But this iron is not for suits!"

1175 BC- Work begins on a stretch of highway connecting Kiev to the already established Moscow-St. Petersburg route. Mother Russia cannot wait for it's completion as she has not visited Kiev yet, only Briangrad. LOL

1075 BC- Russian warrior attacks a barbarian that had been pursuing a Russian Explorer for quite some time. The warrior wins uncontested.

1050 BC- St. Petersburg completes it's work on a settler and begins working on a worker. Mother Russia immediately begins plans for a new city in the east.

1025 BC- It is discovered that Egypts border in the north now stretches from one coast to the other, forcing Russia to remain in the south of the continent. "We must stop the Egyptians from coming down into land that is rightfully ours. If they come, I will not hesitate to attack!"

975 BC- Mother Russia dies at her 536th birthday party after choking on a some dye from St. Petersburg that she thought was the precious wine from the east. She never got to ride her horses nor did she do anything very productive during her 500 year reign of power in Russia. She is looked down upon for centuries as being the Czarina who talked but did nothing.

NOTES:

-There is a settler that is on it's way to whatever spot you want
-The Pyramids will be completed in 5 turns and Moscow will become the envy of the world.
-Writing, which will open up a huge window of opportunities, will be discovered in 1 turn

MOTHER RUSSIA

950 BC - In honor of his glorious relatives, Moscow is renamed Kendterville* for the visionary who foresaw a town of great cultural wonders. Embassies established with our neighbors.

925 BC - Barbs kill one of our exploring warriors :(

875 BC - A barb camp spotted by our settler. He runs away, and a warrior is dispatched to kill it.

850 BC - Kill a barb north of Kiev. I watch the English scout get killed.

800 BC - Briangrad whips out a settler. $48 gets our horseback riding from Egypt. Communications with the French for $2/turn + $5. Nothing of interest from France.

775 BC - Again, Kill a barb north of Kiev.

730 BC - Displace Phoenician camp, money goes away to establish an Embassy with France. Kendterville completes a temple, and begins the Oracle.

710 BC - Barely kill a barb north of Kiev. Come one, why isn't this warrior promoted yet?

690 BC - Minsk is aggresively formed near the wine source. Temple is order as I don't want to have the city culture flipped.

670 BC - St. Pete shield output doubled to 2.

630 BC - Our worker starts fixing things up by Kendterville. Missing road is item #1. Smolensk is formed, and start a temple. I want the Iron source to get within our borders. Since Smolensk is food heavy, start another worker. We have a lot to connect to our network. Horses now in our road net.

Summary - Kiev has been overwhipped. Don't crack it there again.

I would whip out the Barracks in St. Pete so that we have two source of veteran spearman. Our weakness right know is lack of military. Kiev or St. Pete should be dedicated to vet spearman before the world decides to beat us up.

The settler by Moscow needs escort There is a nearby barb camp.

Good luck - If we can get Oracle, and Great Library ... I went for Literature with the GL in mind.

*Just joking - Mother Russia, since you desire to be boring with city names.

After the death of Brianov I, Mother Russia II took control of Russia. Her first act as Czarina was to change the city in the northwest's name. Briangrad was not it's rightful Russian name and so it was changed back to Kiev as it should have been. Sorry Brian. I had to, it was driving me nuts.

 Oh, thats too funny! Thats ok, the next Emporor/Empress has complete despotic control over their cities :king:

:D

Is it my turn again already? What happened to Zed-F? If he shows he can play after me as I've taken Lees save.
