Russian Units Pack, part 4: Forgotten Pack

No, this is French propaganda.
Oh? Even the guy who united Germany is wearing one
Bismarck_pickelhaube.jpg

You see, pointed helmet is indeed German :D

Well, this is because they're German. :crazyeye:

Good way to ignore all my other points/links, or my previous picture. As I said, the guy could make some sense if he was a 10-11c cavalryman (still bearing typically Russian, not Polish elements), otherwise it's just something that never existed. But ignore me if you want, at worst I'll rename it myself ;)

My godness, sorry for all the fuss, Sandris. So please give the spearman a Norman helmet and a chainmail, and when you ever come to do a Polish horseman, give him scale armor and a pointed helmet. That everybody is happy.

Maybe we should have a bunch of units that are modelled after Asterix & Obelix comics? I think that would make a lot of people happy. ;)

I hope noone interfers here. I'd like to have the left one. (Feel free to give the right one a sword and call it Medieval Infantry). ;)

For what it's worth: These are very well made 11-12th century units.
If Embryodead or someone else wants some guy from a later period, maybe you could make him this nice Polish shield... you know.

But please... just render these... They're great. At least for me.

Don't worry I like the left one too, no more whining here ;)

The units you make are excellent additions to the game Sandris, very detailed and nicely animated - they're eyecatchers!

I picked up Russian Civ spontaneously. Actually, I was planning making Roman or Gallic units. :)
Well, I am (and I know everyone else is) glad you did! I hope you still plan on making Roman or Gallic units in the future... ;)

I will make them. ;)

BTW, what suggestions do you have about pre-ancient and tribal rus/slavic units ? :)

Not sure if you have any throwing animations but light spear / small axe throwers would be fitting, or at least a warrior with a small francisca-like hand axe instead of a sword etc.? You could throw some furs over the white pajamas too ;)

BTW I just have to let this off so I can sleep calm - while looking for unique names for Sandris' units in MEM I stumbled upon more info about early Slavs etc. and I have to apologize for jumping over Ares' request. While infantry would not likely wear any armor, Russian shishaks and scale armor were apparently 'popular' in Poland at least until 11c when Western equipment took over. So there, sorry.

If you could do alternate versions for the ones with blond hair/beard with black or brown hair (like the one above) you would be a hero! :)
