SADETO [GoobNES01-Fallout]

Seabed bases as in underwater bases? We would be very interested in that.

We could send technitians for a certain price to help you get the hang of it.

And what this certain price might be? :)

OOC: Hydrogen cars could be considered a military tech due to the hydrogen engine being transplanted to weapons of wars like tanks, planes and etc. Just an idea ;)

OOC: Get lost :p
Actually it was made as a peactime tech so no military application will save it from being shared :)

OOC: i'm just saying ;) it could be possibly ruled in argentina's favor if it went to court :p

It will..... I hope..... if not she'll be in violation of both old and new charter.

charters which have, for >15 years and still do today, bar Argentina from the military alliance and restrict our access to SADETO technology.

The general patents will expire in 2 years, at which point you are all free by international law to develop your own hydrogen engines (or you could start sooner if you come up with a radically new design, if you think it's worth it). After 2 years we will be willing to sell/release/work together on development with certain nations, on request.

The old charter if you recall insists that all peace time technologies are to be shared among members.
Old Charter said:
Artile 5 . Technologies
All members agree to share any technology with its alliance members free of charge, excluding military technology.
Argentina is and was a part of all economic, social and other reforms that SADETO initiated. Why do you put restrictions on your technology?

So that there's a point in developing it. No one else is doing civilian research, or at least hasn't shared any with us. We are giving you the opportunity to partake in the benefits of research by helping to underwrite its costs.

OOC: Icarus please read the 3rd post in this thread. All those reforms are in your country and payed for by SADETO. We share our programs. Perhap's your research should be shared as well?
IC: SADETO is already developing its programs with full cooperation of all of its members.
Brazil would like to know the nature of Bolivian debt to Argentina and how it came about.

At the time those programs were enacted and up to today our education and industry were significantly beyond what those programs had to offer. The rest of South America gained just as much by having access to our industry and universities as we gained. We think this is a good thing, and everyone benefited from the programs, but this does not oblige us to release any of our solely conducted research to anyone for free. Once again, in a few years we will, according to law, release the general patent restrictions, and will be happy to work with other countries on bringing them up to speed or further development.

The loan worked much as you might expect. We loaned them some money to invest in economy, education, and industry. We have recently offered to cancel their remaining debt if they can show that the loan was effectively used.

SADETO is already developing its programs with full cooperation of all of its members.

So you'll have some good technology and research to release soon, right? As we've indicated, we feel it is right for all of us to share in the costs, and we would be happy to help fund the efforts for access to the results.

India is granted "Overseas" membership unless more than 50% members object.

To Argentina:
We still think that Argentia had a lot to win from the proposed plans. Nevertheless the issue is settled. We are waiting eagerly for the public release of this information.

You know, it's a bit strange that my nation was using fuel-cell arrays for their naval units since before the H2 revolution in Argentina.

Of course, we took the course of methane fuel cell arrays - so don't think you can bite our arses.. Heheh

May the CU have full overseas membership? We went on for quite a while being jerked along a thin line and the eonomic recession made us very grouchy.
We are sorry, please forgive our nation.

May the CU have membership, please? It would tie SADETO and APETO closer together.

Unfortunatelly your past comments about the alliance make it difficult to advocate your membership to any South American state. Perhaps a period of relaxation and greater trade relations will soften the relations. CU is nevertheless is welcome to participate in SADETO projects and contribute ideas.

Of course... what projects do you currently need funds on?

We will gladly share our small but efficient space station for SADETO use.

Remember Project Survival? It's still up and going.

*PM sent to Gelion*
PS. This project is peaceful and in no way, shape or form a threat to any other spacefaring nation.

Argentina accept the position of SADETO leader.
We ask our fellow alliance members to lend us their support and vigilance as together we attempt to resolve the greater and lesser issue facing our continent and the lands of our overseas members.

The first issue is Chile and Pinochet.
Under the jurisdiction of SADETO continental security, withdrawal bylaws, and the obligations of human decency, SADETO is duty bound to investigate allegations that events are occurring in Chile including but not limited to:
Illegal suspension of civil protections and provisions; illegal military incursions and influence in civil policy; illegal suspension of normal government activities and coercion of government officials; illegally terrorizing and murdering civilians, including ethnic minorities, political opponents and dissidents, and uninvolved citizens arbitrarily targeted to instill fear in the populace; illegally imprisoning and punishing civilians and military personel without due process, for the purpose of political intimidation; illegal seizure of private property for purposes of political intimidation.

Therefore, SADETO inspectors will enter Chile and thoroughly investigate these allegations to officially determine the truth of the matter. These inspectors will be accompanied by SADETO escorts to ensure their safety. They will not be harassed, intimidated, attacked, obstructed, forcefully held, moved, or expelled, nor will they be prevented from accomplishing their task of investigation and inspection by the action or inaction, officially or unofficially, of Chile. Chile has the right to assign monitors to see where the inspectors are going, but may not interfere in any fashion with their access to persons, places, or things which the inspectors deem to be necessary to their investigation, without providing sufficient reason to SADETO through official pathways, at which time the SADETO council may, if the reason provided is clear, sound, and reasonable, redirect the inspectors to an acceptable alternative site.
Chilean non-compliance with this directive will be taken as unequivocal acceptance of the allegations raised against the Chilean state, and if the inspection teams are hindered or in any way unable to successfully complete their mission due to Chilean obstruction, we will be forced to fall back upon the significant evidence provided to the world previously, which may have significant consequences for Chile.

Chile may make a response to listed and unlisted allegations, and such response will be read in SADETO congress. Chile must respond with their intention to comply with or deny the above listed requirements.

Argentina asks all of SADETO’s member delegates, particularly Brazil and Chile’s immediate neighbors, (or, with special permission, non-SADETO countries with relevant information) to come forward and present pertinent information or recommendations to help shed light on the situation.

Next, the Colombian-Panamanian situation:

We ask both Colombia and the USA to accede to an International Court of Justice regarding border/Panamanian territory. We recommend both countries agree to an immediate ceasefire and try their case before the court and pledge to accept the court’s permanent or temporary ruling, whatever the circumstances may be, over the issue. We urge both sides to cease moving forces into their respective border regions, and observe that the process is much more likely to be resolved smoothly and effectively if both sides would voluntarily make the gesture of voluntarily agreeing to a 20 mile DMZ around the disputed areas. Furthermore, this is the one and only chance the rebels will have to cease their violent insurrection and seek to attain their goals through the normal political process. If they do not accept this opportunity to stand down and come to the table peaceably, no further protections will be offered to them.

If there are other extremely pressing issues, they may be brought up in SADETO meetings in the ensuing days, but we ask that for the sake of devoting the necessary energies to these immediate crises, anything that can be put of, should be.

*The Argentinean delegate relinquishes the floor.*

Chile is no longer part of SADETO, Chile has withdrawn from this organization dominated by evil Communists. Furthermore, whomever SADETO sends to Chile for Inspections of whatever of our great Fatherland will be summarily executed, just like we are executing all enemies of the State. Chile will never yield to the Communist power of SADETO.

Colombia is more then happy to go to the ICJ and prove that Panama is a legal part of Colombia, and that the USA must relinquish Panama to Colombia, to its rightful owner. Panama is an integral part of Colombia, and must remain so for future generations.
