Scientists invent force field - psi weapons to come next

Hmmm... Canada is smaller... destroy those there disgustin' milk-baggers!

Thus also destroying China. Great move.

I'm thinking along the lines of a smaller asteroid. A 1 kilometer diameter rock splash down in the Atlantic. No global dust cloud and the tidal wave created would wipe out the East coast. Wouldn't do a hell of a lot of good for Europe either. And how would the US know that China was responsible anyway?

Because they're totally not going to notice a Chinese satellite visiting the asteroid belt a short time before an asteroid miraculously changes direction and comes towards the US.

Chinesse ambassador urgent call to the white house: "One of our research satellites has misfired and hit an asteroid. Inadvertently sending it spiralling towards your coast. I hope this doesn't mean we can not be friends now."

American response: "We're not idiots. Here, enjoy some nukes. They were accidentally set off by that asteroid of yours, sorry about that." ;)

Then Russia says **** this! and dead hand activates...

Deflection is not vaporization.

Also, if it is reflecting, which direction is it reflecting toward? What is the direction of the current?

Deflection might cause deformation, though, no? Maybe the current slightly oscillates up/down?
