Scions documentation

Experimenting with a new game and I got him to build it no problem.

Can he build it for someone else if he dies and comes back under someone else's control?

No, he can only build it for the scions.

Not sure how it'd work if there were two scion players, though.

Maybe Alcinus had been upgraded? The spell was (that's past tense as of a few min. ago) linked to unit Type, so an upgraded Alcinus couldn't ever create the Keep.

The Keep should work OK for multiple Scion civs - it's a Feat that keeps it to one casting.

Allright, question. Does/has anybody ever found the Creepers useful?

I really don't. They take so long to do anything I have Ghostwalkers able to drop HL anywhere, and by that point you're pretty close to Redactors. They don't defend well/at all sometimes, and they crop up everywhere late game when I have covered my main area in HLs for the economic bonuses, causing me to go on a delete-fest every few turns when they do.

Not that I think they need to go, I'm just wondering if I'm missing something, or they need something.

If I remember correctly, they have no upkeep and are invisibleish and can explore rival territory.

I usually use them as a hawk replacement. Send them to some place I want to keep an eye on, fortify them and forget about them.

But don't they have some sabotage spells that might be useful if you get them in numbers?

So I was playing Scions and I lost the city that had the thaumaturge lab. When I reclaimed it, the mana granting buildings were no longer there. That really stung. Any chance that the hero can be allowed to rebuild it, or that it won't be lost on city capture?

Yeah, that would suck, losing access to what is essentially your other two palace mana.

I'll test this later but maybe you'll get back to me sooner: Was it *just* the mana granting buildings that were gone?

They're all marked conquest prob 100 and nevercapture 0, but there's a difference in the Classes that hopefully explains it.

To be honest I think those have too much of a dark and evil flair to them for the Scions.

Remember, despite being undead, Scions are decidedly neutral.

What if *hem hem* someone were to go through and adjust them to a more neutral colouration?

That, I would support. It looks much better.

Though you may want to look at the models Fall Flat uses too. But I borrowed those from Orbis...

That was actually my thinking when I saw WarKirby suggesting them. Less of the "black and red", more of the "grey and pale green/blue" (in my mind at least - Tarq's view may be different). Should be feasible with a conditional hue shift (paint.net can do them, so I'd imagine its big brothers like Photoshop and PSP can too).

Finally getting around to trying this Civ...I must say it's incredibly innovative and forcing me to break all my habits and patterns that I have for other Civs. Different tech paths, different settling priorities, different building priorities.

Loving the Alcinus mechanic - even if it has been about 400 turns in a Marathon game since I've seen him. Patiently waiting for him to return so I can use the Dark Council spell.

Pretty cool!

So a couple quick questions...I've been skimming and searching in this thread for a few of these answers, but not much luck.

a) The awakened window: it's showing me the % for a chance at popping one, but when I click on it, nothing happens. It is supposed to open and give me all the math behind the %?

b) Unplacable? I saw this mentioned earlier in the thread a couple times (been alt tabbing for documentation etc quite frequently) as a promotion for Velites, but can't find any info in game on it at all in the Civilopedia. What is it? Or was it? Has it been removed? I have a couple ranked up Velites to level 5 or 6 who survived the dangers of the wild, but never saw this option.

c) Just dinged Sorcery, and upgraded Alcinus for 5 gold. Is the upgrade anything more than the 1 str bonus? (doesn't look like it, but I might have missed something).

d) Corpus! Neat promotions, and neat effects from them...but I can't seem to find any info on how to attain them. My necros don't have it, nor do my Doomsayers. It does have the same graphic as body mana does...is this the Scions equivalent? Assuming such, I guess I need to go make a body mana node.

No, it doesn't give the math behind the spawn chance... Although that would be a nice addition.

It's Implacable, requires Fanaticism... Already an important tech for the Scions, for their hero's upgrade.

No idea- To be honest, I never upgrade him. I use him for the keep and the world spell, and then send him off to die. When he finally comes back, he's usually got a few new spell spheres.

Yep, Corpus is the Body mana replacement.
