Gorgo doesn't have to have a unit at all, just the Greek one.
Each leader seems to have 2 "halves" of their LA, but its more about equal power than equal parts. Victoria's are "free melee when settling on foreign continent" and "Redcoat". Teddy's are "Combat bonus on home continent", "boost to National Parks", and "Rough Rider".
If they made a 2nd English or American leader, they would not necessarily require a UU at all. So Pericles can have the "Trireme" plus something else, and Gorgo can have two abilities or one super powerful one.
There will be 1 civ UU and it's possible to have additional leader UU. So Greece could have Phalanx for Greece, Trireme for Pericles and something else for Gorgo (likely Slinger replacement).

Exactly. Pericles can have his Trireme and some other component while Gorgo gives all her land units bonus XP or something that correlates to Sparta's militaristic society.
Yes, you're right! So, no Trireme and is likely no LUU for Greece.
For some reason, if one leader has LUU, I expect others to have LUU as well. Probably because UU are quite specific unique and hard to balance. Surely no hard reasons for this.
Its a bit different isnt it? Garde and the redcoat are the civ 5 equivalent of a rifleman. Theyre in the next era of industrial. While the musketman is for renaissance. True other civs wont have a comparable melee unit, but i think the time difference nullifies a lot of the strength bonus
Why does everyone keep overlooking the Ranger? There's your rifleman. Check out the stats and then imagine how it can be used if it has a couple of promotions and can retreat after combat.

Ranger has even lower base strength than the musketman...if it's level 1 promotions are the recon promotions of faster movement in forest or hilly terrain, I'm not seeing it as a substitute for a melee unit. 45 strength isn't going to hold up against 75 strength Garde Imperial or Redcoat.
Maybe in certain spots, if it can move after firing, it can get a shot off and then move out of range, but you won't be able to do that continuously. It's an intriguing flanking unit but not really viable as quasi-rifleman.
It is, and a recon unit as well. Its range is one with an attack of 60 and it has a melee strength of 45 on the defense. The thing is that it has a base move of 3 and can retreat after attacking with the right promotion. I think you could slow down an army pretty effectively with several of these.

Nothing major, but I don't think we've seen this before... Entering the goody hut healed the warrior. It seems little weaker then, you know, some relic
Spoiler:
Another goody hut, this time "a little" faith.
Spoiler:
Also, some nice city "spamming" from AI here, they just founded 4th city on turn 67, which is probably very nice on Prince.

And this is something what I was talking about in the other thread. This looks like an awful location for city in Civ5, but here... Just settle on the river, get Holy Site/Campus in that tile with 4 adjacent mountains, and you have science/faith superpower. And add some other districts next to it, if food allows it.
This is a kind of a small thing... but I hope we'll still be able to use Ctrl-G to turn the hex gridlines on and off. Has anyone noticed yet if that's possible?
