Screenshots: The Subtle Informant

Did I see "partisans" (I believe they were Macemen) pop-up in one of the Gamespot videos after a city had been captured (and razed)?

This seems like a small obvious change to me, but I can't see it mentioned anywhere. In all these screen shots you now are seeing exactly how many science/espionage/culture points your slider is generating each turn.

Also commenting on the new 5% incriments . . . this makes sense, when you include "Commerce" as an invisible fourth slider. To evenly divide everything up you'd need to be able to set the 3 visible sliders to 25%. Which is a nice change, before we coudn't ever reach 33.33, forcing a 50/50 aproach for any kind of balance approach. It was a 50% kludge, which is now fixed. ALL sliders can now be set to the same number. :)

I also just noticed something else. Looking at the screen shots I see we can GIFT the Corporate Executive Unit to another civilization. This suggests an interesting glitch to me . . . You need to pay to spread a corporation to a new city, but if I gift the executive to the AI or to my buddy and HE spreads it doesn't he pay the cost? Which would mean I got the benefit of spreading the corporation, but didn't pay for it.

He will pay the cost too, but it will maybe cost less. Or maybe simply the same, so it couldn't be exploited.

I'm not sure it's allowed to give an executive, though.

Yes but it reduces your ability to place the corporation in a city that strategically disadvantages your opponent. You could put Cereal Mills in his main production city preventing him getting Ethanol while gifting the executive may result in Cereal Mills going to a city that is hampered by low food.

I'm going out from the assumption that once a city is 'converted' to a certain Corporation, this city can train an executive of this Corporation anyway.

Under this assumption, putting an Executive in a strategically disadvantaged city is only a short-term gain.

This assumption is false. You need to have the Corp HQ to train an executive.

And in the above example how can the disadvantaged civilization get ethanol into their main production city? They can't. They forever lose that ability.

Guess an economic civic-ability like "Theocracy" was too much to ask. :(

That's only a minor and temporary disadvantage IMO... plenty of other ways to get oil in this fathomed "main production city" by other means. ;)

I bet that's the result of a completed quest. I reckon it'd be the one that requires the building of forges.

aye you have a point but what does it do?

"I noticed in the official trailer that currency now leads to code of laws."

Seriously? Good catch shoot the moon!

Well, I guess it will be easier to decide what tech to pop via the oracle. I have always felt torn between code of laws and metal casting. Now I will be torn between metal casting and theology :crazyeye:

I say we play the game and try to be surprised about how it looks!
I have great news: I'm giving in (please don't mock me) and getting win xp on my mac...not only for bts, but graphics reasons and other games...:goodjob:
