v2game2010-08-1519-23-38-44.jpg

wait, what?

Playing USA, same event. The choices are Yankee and Afro-American. Gave me a chuckle.

@Dachs/anybody with more experience: is the Civil War a certainty?

Theoretically it's not supposed to be, but I've never seen it trigger later than 1849, much less fail to trigger. I think there are too many flavor events that increase CON too quickly.

I was pretty happy that Florida joined the CSA in that particular USA game, though - it hadn't happened in my other one, and I was worried it was bugged.

It occurred pretty randomly for around 1851. The war was cake; the CSA never got any army raised.

They never do, especially if you don't raise any Dixie brigades before it starts. Apparently it's a target for 1.2.

Awesome throwback!

Other than having one Dixie engineer up in Wisconsin or something, I recruited just Yankee brigades, thinking that something like that was gonna happen. Even my army down in Cuba remained loyal allowing for the easiest occupation ever.

The only time the ACW ever gets dicey is if you're too slow and fail to occupy enough provinces before they get a decent stack up. And even then it's less "dicey" than "minor annoyance", even if they're playing with a ten brigade stack.

Big Mitch Baker, a little slow on the uptake.

MyWord.jpg

He looks surprised to see me, but that's because I introduced myself with a blast from a submachine gun.

Boom.jpg

Hasn't hit them yet, but standing in front of explosive oil barrels isn't the best idea in the world.

NevahNevah.jpg

Cornering the colonel who tried to escape, who nearly ran over me with his motorbike in the process. (Spearhead expansion)

Oujtgunned.jpg

You know, I think that commando is a bit out-gunned. (Spearhead expansion.)

It's creepy that my little brother was just playing that level when I first got back home a week ago. :crazyeye:

So I am playing my first game ever of Europa Universalis 3: Heir to the Throne, as Burgundy unifying to France.

Am I doing it wrong?

The Unholy Alliance: having recently helped each other partition the Serbian Empire, Castile, Austria and the Mughal Empire prepares for the real challenge: dismantling the Holy Roman Empire. Assuming, of course, the cowardly Christians do not bail out at the last minute.

Okay, spring 1942 ready for the new campaign to destroy the Soviet Union once and for all. The Japanese are doing such a poor job on China that they even didn't perform the suprise attack on Pearl Harbour. The Americans did, however declare war on me and already transported some troops to Africa and Sardinia.

Thanks for the advice Kan!:goodjob:
