A plane I can no longer touch the customize button for because Gaijin now charges 500 GE (over $2 USD) for EACH modern National Flag because a few people were using them to (and I quote) "... instigate national arguments." Ie Russians were massively butthurt over Ukranian flags and constantly TK anyone using them. But it's okay if you paid more than TWICE the price of every other locked (but unlockable!) decal.

Heh. I was like "oh, that Raven Rock from Fallout 3", then I was like "oh, that's Skyrim."

Interesting coincidence, that (though Raven Rock was in Morrowind before Fallout 3... not that that matters). Then again, the RL Raven Rock is close enough to Bethesda.

This is the largest city I've been able to get built up in Train Fever so far (Year - 1973):

i1mRPgm.jpg

Above you can see the LRT route with 9 stations picking up people from the train station, taking them straight to one of the main leisure districts, then a shopping district, then some industrial parts of town, then residential, and finally downtown, and then back to the train station, which is very near a dense residential district. The other markers are bus stations (and buses/trams) - for 2 bus routes that tie into the system. This LRT route only stops at major intersections and not even all of them - every city in my game that has a train station has such an LRT line. 90-95% of them are profitable and they seem to do a very good job of shuffling people around the major parts of the city.

This city expanded quite a bit (both in area and density) due to the fact that it's more or less in the middle of the map.. and I have made it into a major transit hub. The train station basically sits at the centre of 3 train lines - one runs east-west, one north-south, and the third one on a bit of a diagonal. So far each line has about 5-8 cities connected to it. If you look closely you'll see that each line is actually a double line - so that trains don't have to wait too long while other trains run in the other direction. One of the lines only has 1 line visible here - due to the "only 5 platforms max per station" thing - so one line has to have 1 platform at this central coming together of all 3 lines. No problem though - it's a double line everywhere else - meaning that there are no noticeable efficiency or bottleneck issues compared to the other lines. It's because trains have to be spaced out anyway - or your profits suffer.

Anyway, here's the full city transit system - 1 LRT and 2 bus lines that connect to it at various places and which serve other parts of the city. This city seems to be building up a bit of a second cluster of high density buildings in the west - so I think I will convert one of the bus lines to an LRT soon enough. There's expansion in the north as well that might need a new bus line or an LRT extension.

It's sooo much fun. The first couple times I played, I got too annoyed with minor details.. and things not working out the way I thought they should. But now that I understand game dynamics well enough, I haven't had this much fun since I discovered KSP.

I'm almost done playing through my first full game - it's the year 1997. I don't think the game actually stops at any particular year - and you can probably play until the year 3000 if you want.. But I have no idea. Now that I make $5-$10 million a year, I have enough money stashed away to build new rail lines that span the entire map, instead of doing it station by station/city by city. So now finally it's possible in this save to undertake huge engineering projects, which is a lot of fun. Last night I connected 5 cities to my grid with a new line that connects to 2 existing lines - at 3 spots. Each city connected to the grid gets an LRT, to help shuffle people around.

Yep, I'm addicted.
