Secret Hitler - I - The First [Concluded]

I tried to speed up the game best I could. I did everything to practically allow players to move things along themselves (thanks stork, apo) so that I only really needed to look after the drawing of cards.

Having secret votes I feel would mean more waiting on me and less actual votes being passed Imo.

I am toying with the idea that voting stage should be automatic ya! And players vote only if they descent.

Also one thing I realised is that if we were to get a liberal government elected we would need all five liberals to vote for it, which was a problem since KingMorgan went kinda inactive

yeah hence my thoughts on automatic Ya! rather than automatic Nein!

This game went on way longer than I expected it to :

1. The rapid enactment of 3 lib policies delayed any normal did he/didn't he confrontation.
2. The failure to elect governments.

I'm tempted run again with my change to run another round and see if same issues crop up. Or is there just not enough enjoyment out of it/too mechanical?

Well Al definitely wanted to play, so it's probably be worthwhile to set up a new thread and see what happens. Worse case is you don't just get the interest right now. But an experiment would probably help clarify whether or not this is the wrong medium for the game.

Ok I'll have a think on it some more and start a new game after Visors Small Mafia game finishes.
