Secrets of the Pharaoh

I outlawed that though! :hammer:

Darius, leader of the Persians, came to Ramesses asking if they would teach the Persians about Civil Service. Darius states that his people 'needed' it, and would be unhappy if Ramesses said no. Ramesses, seeing he has a slowly declining relationship with the Persians, decided to teach them to help heal the rift.

Ramesses also wanted to expand west into the land that once belonged to Carthage. Knowing this would raise the maintenance cost even more, he would lower his scientific output when his gold stores lowered to 780.

Ramesses also noticed that the increased science production from 70% and 80% wasn't much of a difference.

Spoiler :

Very shortly after, Ramesses was taking a stroll in Thebes when he noticed the construction site for the University of Sankore had magically transformed into piles of gold after hearing it has already been built somewhere else.

Ramesses was furious! He wanted some other wonder in Egypt other than Stonehenge, but there was nothing he could do.

Ramesses also returned the science rate to 70%, because he did not like losing gold.
Guilds would still be finished researching at the same time.

New lands also came to Egypt. These new lands were the Viking Union and Portugal, who both liked Egypt enough to open borders to trade with them.

Tales were also spread around Aksum about a large grouping of natives to the south. Ramesses sent his last war chariot to explore these rumors, and would give news to his people once the war chariots sent a report about this village.

Spoiler :

The tales were found to be true, and Egyptian war chariots found a settlement of natives near a large source of gems to the south of Aksum.

Researchers also came to Ramesses to inform them that they had reached a dead end. Their research for Banking would have to be set back another 15 years, but they assured Ramesses that they would master this topic eventually.

The impis that were protecting Mombasa, or as it was heard to be called moved to the south and only left behind a warrior to protect this village. The war chariots presumed this action to be leaving to protect another settlement to the south, but they could only assume. War chariots easily defeated the warrior and took the city.

Ramesses also had to lower the science output to deal with the maintenance cost, but with this new revenue he felt he could build another city and still be able to stay at 60% scientific research.

SC Decision!

Spoiler :
Basically we need some direction. Plus, some locals have been hearing tales of pale men on the coast of 'Congo', eyeing the land...

1) Cancel the building of war chariots in any Egyptian cities building them, and switch them to building embassies so we don't lose contact with faraway civilizations
2) Build a galley in either Mombasa or Alexandria and search for these far eastern civilizations that there has been talk about from Persian traders
3) Trade technologies to European civilizations for gold or for a steady supply of gold per 15 years so we can put our research back up to at least 70%
4) Cancel buildings in our best production cities (Thebes and Aksum) and build any wonders that we can in either or both cities
5) Listen to the tales of white men off the coast of 'Congo' and anywhere else, and try our best to keep these civilizations out of Africa

Option 4 would be Wonderful

I declare that pun the most Wonderful thing :hammer:

Option 4

With new wonders design I'll need new starhips designs that can park on them Egypt will be even more beautiful...

I wish I could vote for both 2 and 4 because both can be reasonably accomplished simultaneously...

As for the research, I would just crank it up to 100% and get to Optics, because you can afford to lose the gold.

I agree. That's a very good point.

You can vote for two, only it'd end up being a half vote for both.

Plus, the only reason they are separate is because I've got to have cities working on something progressive for Egypt. I'll need at least one productive city that is able to build units if need be instead of building a wonder or a ship.

Yay! Justice has prevailed! (For once)

Both Thebes and Aksum changed form building War Chariots to building wonders, on the gods' and Ramesses's request. Thebes would build the Leaning Tower of Thebes, and Aksum the Wat Preah Pisnulok. They would take a short time to build, but have good effects.

When exploring the Carthaginian ruins, Ramesses was given a vote from the Apostolic Palace: to stop the recent Persian-Portuguese war. Ramesses not favoring war between two faraway brothers-in-faith, voted yes to stop the war. After waiting for some time, the voting had ended, and the war was over.

Egypt also had the most votes in the AP, so Ramesses was proud of his nation.

A new civilization the north had formed in Anatolia. This civilization called themselves the Turks. Ramesses taught these Turks the secret to Meditation and paid them to convert to Christianity for a small sum so they would have a good relationship from the start.

Ramesses had a feeling they would not just want to stick to Anatolia, and was slightly hoping they would take out Arabia, just so they could have a friendly neighbor to the east. Well not friendly enough to open their borders, at least.

Shortly after, Ramesses had actually successfully made a wonder in Thebes. The Leaning Tower of Thebes was finished, and this new Leaning Tower would bring great scholars and people from all across the globe to Thebes. Ramesses was happy something other than the Stonehenge was bringing people to Egypt.

It was as Ramesses had heard. The Netherlands, and their ugly mustached leader, had settled on the very south of Africa. Ramesses was displeased about this, but there was nothing he could do about it at that time.

Egyptian scientists were also mastering a way to better attack enemies from afar, and make it more lethal than bows and arrows. They were trying to create a powder that could be set alight and send a heavy metal bullet at their enemies. This powder would be called Gunpowder, and once finished, would revolutionize war forever.

SC Decision!

Spoiler :
Egypt needs direction! We now have wonders, but times are changing

1) Finish gunpowder, build some musketmen, and go south to capture a native village, and declare war on the Netherlands so we may expel them from Africa. Also, build a trireme and send it around the coast of Africa to defeat any Dutch navy
2) Ignore the European colonization of Africa and continue on our path of focusing on our economy and science
3) Build one more wonder in Thebes, and ignore the European colonizers
4) See if we can train a spy and send it into Arabian and Turkish land to see how the two are faring. If possible, up the espionage output and see if we can sabotage the Turkish-Arabian relationship. If not, mess with Arabian cities
