Seemed like a good idea...

After months of lurking, I finally got an account, mainly to share this little story.
Ever have what seems like a great idea, only to realize it's incredibly stupid? In FfH, I usually play as the Ljosalfar. So when setting up a custom game, I made my map type Arboria (the one with lots of forests). I'm also too lazy to build settlers, and thoroughly aggressive, so I turned on the option to have the game start with barbarian cities.
These both seem OK, right? Try it, if you can't guess what happened next...

Spoiler :
Several turns later, the game informs me that the Red Dragon had spawned. Makes sense, with all the cities it was inevitable that one become the Dragon Lair. I wasn't bothered until I was reminded that dragons breath fire. Some fool had gotten too close to the Dragon's Lair, and had gotten torched. This set the forest on fire. The forest that covered the entire world. For the rest of the game (shortened by Orthus, as I couldn't put anything together with all the flames), the world was a raging inferno!

Nice. I've never actually tried an arboria map, I usually stick to hemispheres. It sounds like those options may be perfect for a game as the Clan of Embers. (they're orks, so they can move through fire without any problem, unlike their victims, plus their hero can convert barb cities without a fight.)

Just started a new game in .25 myself on a normal big-small map, and when the dragon spawned... FWOOSH

Water I...calling all firefighters.... "we never thought it would save the world".
Now if only it damaged the dragons...
