SelectSmart Religion Test

Quaker (Society of Friends): A Christian denomination, founded in the mid-17th century in England, that rejects formal sacraments, a formal creed, a priesthood, and violence; the Quakers.

There is nothing to be embarrassed about if you are at heart a Quaker. Not that I put that much stock in this test, and I honestly don't think many of you are Quakers. They are essentially good people who wish to do God's work, but are unwilling to hurt anyone in the process. Most of them are well educated, and capable of philosophical dialogue on subjects most Christians consider a matter of faith.

Here's Kulade's list:
100% Conservative Christian Protestant
86% Libral Christian Protestants
85% Mormon
83% Orthodox Quaker
79% Jehovah's Witness
71% Seventh Day Adventist
68% Eastern Orthodox
68% Roman Catholic
67% Bah'i Faith
65% Christian Science
My least fitting was
20% Secular Humanism

Theravada Buddhism, along with Mahayana Buddhism, one of the two principal branches of Buddhist belief. It is most widespread in Sri Lanka, Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. Like Mahayana Buddhism, Theravada (Pali for “School of the Elders”) claims to perpetuate the true teachings and practices of the Buddha.

The Theravada school traces its descent from the original sangha, or monastic community, that first followed the Buddha. Its canon of scripture consists of the Tipitaka (Three Baskets), the first great compendium of Buddhist writings, composed in the Pali language. Theravada tends toward doctrinal conservatism, exemplified in a cautious interpretation of its canon. Because of this, it has been given the pejorative name Hinayana (Sanskrit for “Lesser Vehicle”) by its rivals, who call their own tradition Mahayana (“Greater Vehicle”). The goal of the Theravadin, or devotee of Theravada, is to become an arhat, a sage who has achieved nirvana (enlightenment) and will never be reborn. Mahayana traditionally prefers the figure of the bodhisattva—who, out of compassion, helps others toward salvation—to the arhat, who is concerned chiefly with his own salvation.

NOTE: Looked at list of B'hai beliefs, they have almost no similarity to JW. I am starkly puzzled at this supposed confluence of ideas. Results 3-5 make me chuckle. As. If. Makes me wonder who thinks this stuff up... ;)

Been following certain other threads, but no desire to join them again at the moment. Had to try this one though...
