Ok i just confirmed. You can cancel and order of a unit...but it is very counterintuitive.
Example: I click my unit.
I right click to move NW.
*at this point it looks as if i am stuck moving NW next turn
(no cancell orders button if i click my unit)
what you have to do is:
1. Click the same unit again
2.retrace the move back to his starting point holding the right click mouse button.
3. Voila order cancelled.
*note if the "explore" button was pressed, i can't verify this because when i click our unit after i have ended the turn it will not allow me to "explore"
Therfore the "explore" button would have been hit as a misclick during thier turn and thus although sucks is a legit mistake.
I do not however have any advice for cancelling the explore move. (other than maybe the keyboard shortcut for cancelling and order in the game) My guess is prior to hittign "end turn" on the next turn the order will be allowed to be cancelled.
