I defeinitely do not agree on waiting so long for war .... to hell with frigates, attack already!!

Ok with GE for Taj Mahal, but IIRC, GE does not give enough hammers for Taj Mahal, so need to invest some hammers into it first. Don't waste the GE and then find that someone beat us to it. Check how many hammers GE will give and then wait until the exact moment to rush the wonder.

Good point abt PA giving us tech .... But what do you suggest we do? At most we can do is beeline for communism. In the meanwhile we still have to take care of HC. I think Gandhi will not agree to PA if we are at war (not too sure abt that though. But if it was me, I probably wouldn't agree to a PA with someone currently at war unless I am certain he will win. So, back to square one, we still need to take care of HC).

Spoiler thread is up. I wonder if we should even bother? We're so far ahead (turn-wise) I doubt that we can gain any info from it and all we'd be doing is enlightening the masses.
 
First off, I played 11 turns, so GreyFox should be happy (save is at 1550AD now.) Turns are now 3 years each.

First off, I imediatly revolt to Vassalage and Police State. We've got some units due next turn, so giving them the exp will help. Police state so our war machine can get the 25% build bonus.

Once Nationalism comes in, I set Thebes to Taj... and YES the enginner can complete it!

About the spoiler thread, the point of it is not to get any spoiler information or give it. It's to see how the different teams approached the game. If we are worried we would be enlightening other teams, let's do our first spoiler til 1AD.

As for a scribe, I think GreyFox would be able to do the best job with making it interesting, humorous, and keeping it accurate.

Are you guys sure you want me to be the Scribe? Shouldn't some native speaker (or writer in this case) be more suited? Hmmm .... I could .. but ... hmm ...

As for our units... I've been building lots of cats and started some Knights. Our main problem is getting them ferried over. I finished up a couple more Galleons at the end of my turns, so we should be able to get a sizeable force going. I did have build a couple of pikes to help against the Knight(s) HC has.

There's 3 turns left in our GA. I've been building nothing but military everywhere. 6 turns left on Military Tradition... Calvary will be nice to get also.

I would just get units accross ASAP but I think 3 or 4 galleons actually ferrying and 2 for defencive purpouses should be enough? But first and foremost lets keep the units comming across...
 
We defintly need screening Galleons out to keep his navy from stopping our landing forces. We can just continue to stream units into his backyard and make it hurt. I'd also suggest that we get one or two galleons or caravels out to HC's east to find any newly settled island sites. If at all possible, I'd like to take him out of the game totally and quickly.

BTW, great job on the tech trade, I was hoping Nationalism wouldn't be shopped around yet, but to get 3 for 1... woo hoo!

I also second Greyfox for the scribe. He's always got the best stories (even if he was wrong about Nara)

Instead of walking the troops, using the boats to pick them up and drop them off. Pro: Troops move faster. Cons: Troops are more vulnerable to naval counterattack and you have fewer galleons available for transport from homeland.

Looks like I'm not going to be playing until tomorrow morning (13-15 hours), sorry for the delay. GreyFox can play if he's up by then.
 
dot - and that just btw - is thinking that tactical maneuvers with galleons are a good idea. especially if you manage to promote these galleons two times. Maybe after taking out some of HC's caravels. Because with 'Combat I' > 'Medic I' you're also healing your troops while ferrying them. :thumbsup:

Oh, did you guys reckon the decline in the scoregraph of team one? :D
