SGOTM 05 - Gypsy Kings

So LC, are you planning to join GK for the next SGOTM? You are posting more here now than the rest of us!
We don't mind, you are welcome to stay ... and we won't tell Big Pig!

A turncoat, that's what we need, or maybe a deep cover spy, yea, yea that's it, a deep cover spy to lead our espionage campaign.

I think we need to follow a more detail oriented approach next game. I really like how thoroughly CFR argues their points BEFORE any moves are made. I feel like we did not effectively communicate our short or long term strategies, that led to turns being wasted because of confusion. If you go look at CFR, there is a period in the middle of their thread where Balbes and IL2T are having a difference of opinion about tactics, it took them maybe 40 posts to sort out their options and come to a consensus. Their posts were very detailed, turn by turn analysis, maps with detailed move by move drawings. I know it is very time consuming, and we may not be committed to that level of excellence. But it is something to consider!

40 posts? Pah! It took us 500 posts to decide if we should gift the copper city or not  Perhaps that's nothing to brag about

I vote yes on LC for GK :D

Erkon succeeded in doing what no other civver has ever done. He played an entire game without a single battle. I think Erkon the Peacemonger much better fits the GK style.

Actually, the always-war GOTM (23?) was also without battle, since my capital was undefended i.e. no rolls were made. So, not only once, but twice! Hold on, did I just agree to switch teams? :dubious:

You guys may not know this, but back before Erkon's time, SGOTM3 to be exact, Murky Waters almost lost its capital w/pyramids in the BC years. It came down to our warrior against a slightly damaged Alex archer. Our warrior had BALLS! ALex's archer was a wimp.

ah...the game with the UN gifting to Frederick. If only we'd thought of that, we'd have finished 200+ years earlier(Geezers, that is).

:aargh: Did you have to remind me?

lol sorry. I think we got close to thinking of it, but went down a different track when we ended up building it in our capital.

Wow! You guys have fielded a good team for SG6. With 8 active players, the only unfortunate aspect will be that some people only play 2 turnsets before it's over. We had 8 last time and only 3 of us played 3 turnsets... (or was it 4 turnsets, I forget)

Game on!

Some of us could win in two turn sets, while others needed three... :D
