I forgot about the AI bonus for barbs. But depending how it works, it may already be taken into account. When I moused-over our troops for attacking, Saladin's archer's strength was bigger than I thought it should be. Remember---we're barbs too. That was the strength I put in the online calculator.
The archer is Combat II, but I doubt he'll scratch the defender. I'm skeptical that we can take the city no matter what order we attack in. Saladin's archer is fully fortified.
We can't get peace right now unless we give up Kufah. Not worth it, I don't think. I also tried for a Cease Fire, no go.
So like Welnic says, we have to root for the defender. If he survives, we should have no problem taking the city. And the barbs may raze it if they take it; I don't know what logic they use for that.
I remember reading that it has to do with their upkeep budget - if we can get the barbs a couple of trade routes in their towns, they will be more likely to keep towns than raze them. But we're quite a way off from that point, surely.
Najran was razed. But so much worse - Kufah was taken by Saladin
We have peace with him (gave up Priesthood for it) until turn 218, which will be partway through the next turnplayer's set. Karakorum is slowly building up an army to take it back, and finally evict him from our lands.
Other happenings:
worker is starting to hook up Iron, the other one is roading the stone quarry.
Galley is exploring a small island to our east, but finding nothing but jungle, with no food resources
Beshbalik is finishing off another archer - we will be able to defend much better once all our archers retreat to the cities.
We are now operating under Hereditary Rule, so we can whip more. Math came in in 620ad (t208), and I set us up to do HBR in 16, with no barb beakers invested.
On my last turn Saladin wanted OB, but I showed him the door.

I'll grab the save when I get home. I'm taking my wife out tonight to see "Evita," so I don't know if I'll get a pre-turn plan posted this evening. If so, it could be late. Definitely tomorrow by noon.
Didn't do a whole lot. We got the iron mine by Beshbalik completed, may need to switch some builds. Basically built chariots my entire turn-set and moved the galley into the southern coastal waters.

We need to settle the seafood city to our north asap. Qin has a galley with a settler on it and if Hangzhou's border pops again, he will be able to settle that site.
Other than that, it's just build swords, axes, and some more galleys.
