My plan is to build three monuments for Zeus, and start him in Ulundi.
Build a workboat for Yoda, and start Great Library in Choko Central when Chichen Itza is completed.
And get a settler to the Marble Copper Cow location.
Besides that try to boost research, and get some more military going.
I'll make the Agriculture/Monarchy trade, and revolt to Hereditary Rule.
I'm a bit uncertain on research. If we don't want to attack soon, I'd probably go for currency and sailing, if we want to attack soon I'd go for Engineering and then Civil Service (Metal casting and Machinery too).
And then take the barb city when the Axe is ready.
I'd leave Joao for the moment, just block him off, convert him to confused and have a decent garrison, we can use the trading partner at the moment. Research, I'd go Metal Casing then Sailing.
Turn 7: ChokoCentral -> Great Library. Ulundi -> Library. We missed the statue of Zeus. Courthouse in Yoda whipped.
Turn 8: Metal Casting -> Sailing. Yoda -> Missionary.
Turn 9: Elephantastic -> Temple. Ulundi -> The Partenon. Yasodharapura(CoCoMa) is founded at the Cow, Copper, Marble site -> Courthouse.
Turn 10: Sailing -> Machinery.
Postturn: The Catapult ran into a Barbarian Axe in the south, and is heading back.
There are workboats heading for fish at ChokoCentral and for fish at Yoda.
Machinery is in 13, but can be changed, no beakers invested yet.
It is important that we try to get the Marble in asap, as both the wonders we're building now could use it.
Not much happened:
- since we have Sailing and Taoism has already been founded, left in Machinery (2 turns to go)
- we missed Parthenon, but got Great Library
- we just got a Great Prophet...what do we want to do with him? I'm assuming we want to merge him, but figured I would allow for comment.
- otherwise, just started forges and building up our cities
Agree on great prophet. In one of my practice games captured at least two religions without shrines so the prophets came in handy.
I will pick up the save later today.
edit:
Got dragged into RL now have the 800 AD save and will play either tonight or tomorrow.
A few thoughts before i play. Yoda is unhappy and the current lib build is now a one pop build so i could start a forge for a few turns and four pop whip it. Especially as it doesnt have many developed tiles. Ulundi is starving as a barb galley is pillaging the fish boats and we probably need to take it out or it will be the boats at yoda next. I think whipping a trireme there is the way to go it will take three turns to get in the water and might be too late on the yoda boats.
Jao is now double in power and has chariots which match up against our axes so at what point to we want units?
Any suggestions on the next tech? Beeline Islam and chrisianity?
The 1000 AD save is done.
Jao is edging ahead of us in tech now and has calendar and about 7 turns away from CS. I kept a wary eye on him as he has some swords and city raider promotions on our border.
I decided to beeline Islam even though christianity is taken. The quickest way was to consider a trade with Jao for mono+aesthetics for Monarchy to get us to self research theo and DR. I felt it was worth a trade and took it.
I had enough hammers at Ulundi to build a tireme for turn 2 and took out the barb galley and sent it north exploring. Ulundi then finished a forge to take a gold boosted and once chop boosted run at Shwedan. We are two turns away and chop comes in at the same time. Ulundi now has another riverside cottage and the fishing boats are restored.
Yoda is a fast growing city with constant happy problems even though now it is running three specialists. I whipped a baray instead of a forge ( netted me a one turn WB) and then built a spear as i am worried about Jao.
I didn't revolt to HR but took a trade for wine for our spare copper with Jao. I feel that we can always cancel later if our happy caps are boosted way up by HR but for now it allowed some vertical growth for our cities. A revolt to HR will probably make Jao friendly ( but he may already have decided to war with us) and now that he had copper I didn't want to lose the Colossus I was building after the forge at central. Once Shwee completes maybe we revolt as HR is Jao's favo civic. The revolt will also make Yoda happy.
I built or am building a couple of swords, spear, south coast trireme, and a chariot just to give us some defenders. Yoda and Nobama just completed builds and I have place holder builds with no hammers so the next player can decide what they really want to build in those to cities. DR I believe has no beakers invested so we can think again about DR.
Someone has Christianity so we can think about whether to run on AP.
Currenlty central is building a galley but can switch to the AP or Hag if it is worthwhile. We could use a settler at some point which is why i was building the galley to get a city on another land mass.
edit: Also when we revolt to HR we can now consider theo at the same time if we want to go medieval on Jao.

Our economy stinks. We need to get more missionaries to Joao. Maybe research Currency? I'd like to be able to take barb city but we can't afford it.
The only wonder up for grabs is Hagia Sophia (in capital next I think). National Wonders available are Heroic Epic (Elephant), National Epic (capital) and Maoi Statues (Ulundi).
Don't think Divine Right is the way to go. Should be on Compass (for Optics and discovering AI) or Currency (for getting economy back on track).
We should also revolt to HR to get more brownie points with Joao.
Currency sounds good. HR definately once Shwee is done. Do we want to spend hammers on religion? If Jao has only our religion will it spread pretty fast on its own? Maybe seed the furthest away town of his so it travels from both ends?
I am not sure how the religion spread works but that seems to be the efficient way to do it?
Well it seems are economy is in need of some repair. I would def take currency next. Will help through extra trade routes and will allow us to build market. Will also allow us to get some gold from Jao from resource or tech trade. We should maybe look to work less hammer and more cottage squares where possible. Other techs we are going to need sooner rather than later are CS and anything on way to Optics. Jao will not trade any techs with us as he thinks he has monopoly on any techs as is just us and him. I forgot to look do we have any potential to steal a tech from Jao anytime soon might be an idea to check out.
I'm not sure of the need to build swords. We are not going to attack anyone soon so if we need any troops should build axes or spears. cheaper and better defensively. Although the only reason I see for more troops are to inc happiness in a particular city if needed through HR. We should be spreading Conf as quickly as poss to max gains from shrine. Im not sure we have chosen wisely with our building of wonders. We have missed AP and Pyramids both would have been a lot more beneficial than Chichen or Shwedagon.
In short I would say to go for Currency then either Compass or CS. I would also advise less swords more missionaries and any general changes to get more gold and sci. Also do we think 4 workers are enough for know or do we need more.
