Civ & Hattrick addict
Let me write a bit (as I am the only one who can compare our current team to previous SGOTM teams I played in)
What we did well:
-First of all, we played as a team
I already was in teams where one played this way the other played that way...Civ is about focusing s.t. the greatest strength of playing in a team is beng able to focus even more.
-We discussed enough and were "playing" even if it's not our turn
If you only come back when it's your turn and disappear until it's your next turn then that makes the team weaker. If all of the team do that then that won't work. Especially cause you then forget about the game in between...
-The weaker listened to the stronger
A great compliment to our two Regent players!
Take a look into Wotan's thread. They had a great opening until a weaker player messed it up twice without listening and playing carefully.
Surely we all did small mistakes. The biggest rule for low-level players is:
Discuss, Listen, play carefully (includes MMing), ask...even if it would take you days to finish your set
-Our overall strategy was good
All of you had ideas and we made it fitting to a big picture very nicely.
Thanks to paperBettle for all the calculating stuff!
A good SG team is stronger than any of the individuals and I think that is what we managed! Losing to experts and veterans like team klarius only by a few turns (but maybe they scrwew up their final set...) is a great result, given our situation before the start.
(Yes, we did some mistakes, but only small ones which has delayed winning by a few turns, if at all, but that is normal, not everything can be perfect, I guess everyone of us did some small mistakes)
BTW, I'd be happy if we play together again in SGOTM 12! (Then we could chose the name "Team Regulars" and in 13 "Team Veterans" ;-) )
