SGOTM 15 - Xteam

Yes, knowing VC would help. Not sure how we make that decision at this point?

Thinking Htadus and Hawk have a point in putting a hurt on the local AI adversaries. So it is early war for sure? Probably should not build too many cities as no razing is on, otherwise it'll be a courthouse building festival. Would be nice if the AI built them for us... :mischief:

Nice thought on 'mids, gives us added flexibility as we could change to rep after the :hammer:

After we tame our continent, we should have more info to make VC decision?
Do need to get a Work Boat out to scout the local environs though. :deadhorse:

Quite, but then you still have to avoid burning them down...

Yes I suppose it does give us the option to use both PS and Rep and different stages.

I'm sure we would, but I'm thinking that might be a bit late to get a good finishing date...?

There's a "certain" smell starting to develop around here. Maybe it's all those large corpses lying around...

What invading army would want to destroy a symbol of the former regime's power and authority?

Can't we be benevolent and allow those Courthouses to remain?

We may already be late for culture...
Requires a focused run up the tech tree to Drama and Music so we can use the culture slider, while working lots of cottages to push that slider high and keep it there.

Culture also requires we build a number of buildings in our cities to enhance cultural points. Hard to maintain a large army to do this. With these "neighbors" of ours, we are going to have to defend ourselves, so perhaps it makes culture nearly impossible to achieve, leaving us with Domination or Religious.

Yeah.

Stop hitting them so hard? :mischief:

PS = 2 happy w/rax BTW.

I think you have already discussed what I had in my mind when I consider the Mids. Being Spiritual we can change civics as often as needed.

This game is going to be composed of phases. War and growth/tech phases. We can change civics to fit the needs.

Our first need going to be a War phase since we can not go into GS phase untill we get the GE and a GP. That is about 17+10 (27 turns with the Oracle City runing a priest) After that we need to go into a GS generation phase. So we do need to build another city that can grow big with food or the Toku capital will work very well. Am I pushing war too much :)?:mischief:

Anyways. Lets first decide on the mids. And then give me a GO for at least untill the end of the mids......

Also the first build on the city 4 will be WB.

You can push all day and it won't do much good until we pop Construction.

'mids is a go from here, I'm convinced. :yup:

Could build WB while chopping, change to Monument for the chop and then complete WB? :hmm:

"Could build WB while chopping, change to Monument for the chop and then complete WB? " Think this a distinction without a difference.

Didn't know about happiness from barracks. Tilts me towards Mids too.

I'm becoming more convinced about the mids also. Let's do it. Meanwhile lets get to construction and be ready to build some cats.

On the side of having our cake and eating it too, can we fit in another settler...?

I was actually going to build 2 missionary in Vijay for each of the cities without hindu. This will get us a happy face also. The city4 is better off building WB and then Granary>Forge or Forge>Granary.

OK it seem that we have a majority. So I will play tomorrow. Just to give more time for any last minute comments.

EDIT: Xpost
MP: I can not see how I can get a settler in between the next 7-8 turns. I can start one in Vijay.

Agree with mids in the capital and the rest of htadus' plan.

I think you confused the +2 happy from rax with nationhood, PS grants -50% war weariness in addition to the +25% production bonus for units.

Agreeing with MP, that we should try to get another settler out, because
i'm unsure if 4 cities will do the trick for our cat-war. City 4 is far from the battlefield and has to secure our north too. So we're trying to pull this off with 3 or 3,5 cities which is dicey. If we manage to get another settler we could plant a city NE of stone and by the time we get math chop the 6 forests into more units. It would take a bit to get up to speed but i don't think we're able to attack before 1AD regardless.

We should also focus our espionage on somebody otherwise our points will go to waste at some point as our opponents got some help with their EP-generation.

-edit-

I'm not really a fan of gifting hatshe (or anybody for that matter) a tech for now. To get the full bonus we have to give MC atleast and that's out of question imo. How are we responding to a demand from hatshe?

Played on the test save until T72.

I can't match any food/hammer counts of the real game, but it should give us a resonable estimate when we'll get to construction and when we'll be able to strike against Toku.

Yes . I checked the save I got the idea from and I see I am in both Nationalism and PS. Sorry all. :(

OK with the no gift.

I never give to any demands (that is why I do not play Deity) so I will take teams recommendation.

:thanx:

Hope to get some time to see how long to Construction. Seems like it'll take a lifetime. :)

Yes, more REX would be good. 1 NE of stone would be good, all those forests could be converted to cottages. I also think 3 SW of the Delhi is a possibility. Less forests to chop, but it has some hills for ongoing production.

Like Htadus, I almost always refuse demands. However, in this case, I think we might need to acquiesce. We don't want war before we've gotten AP out.
