SGOTM 16 - U'nu'sual S'us'pec'ts

Yes, that's correct. Sorry, I misunderstood the question.

I have just checked, we have:
- 14 Buddhist temples (enough for 4 buddhist Stupas, Paris already has one)
- No confused temples (19 cities infected, no missionaries)
- No christian temples (5 cities infected, 2 missionaries)

So 6-9 conf and chrst needed depending on whether we want 2 or 3 legendary.
I don't see getting legendary without.

By the way, I think we should also be discussing tile improvements!
We are getting to the point where hammers are really great so in my opinion, we should farm a city to let it grow until it gets Sushi. After that, it can pump out a worker if necessary and replace everything with workshops (great synergy with caste which is what we should be running)!

On the other hand, Rev, FT1 is going to be the thing that finishes last so we need beakers above all else. I'm not sure what we'd do with hammers at this point. Maybe a few cities could do this to raise the army we need to take Humbaba. This should be easily testable. I predict 8 or so marines should be sufficient.

We may need an army to capture a holy shrine, but I don't think so. We'll be spitting out so many great people I bet we get 'lucky' and make one more great prophet. If not though, we can have a force ready to take one of the other holy cities. A few tactical nukes and some modern armor will be able to take any city easily.

Other than that I think Diplo and Culture will be the two fastest ways to win. And they are both very easy to time. We can concentrate on culture in 3 cities (GP bombs, a million artists, 3 cathedrals, build culture) and then win diplo.

I agree that CR is a crucial wonder for us and think it should be one of our next goals.

However, hammers can also be converted into wealth (and a lot of it with all those multipliers we will be getting) which will speed up our research rate. Cottages will be not as good in my opinion purely because they grow so slow to actually be a real benefit!

Excellent point. Especially in some of our newer cities, it might be productive (pun) to go heavy hammers so those cities can build wealth allowing us to keep the slider at 100%. Somebody with time should probably come up with long term plans for our cities. Especially the newer ones that could go either way. We'll need bank/merchant cities, laboratory/scientist cities, Legendary/artist cities, and Ironworks/Industrial Park/Engineer city(ies) (Mining Inc GE), among others.

OK. Online with a fresh reload of the save. The one with the Paris warrior garrison getting some fresh air chatting with his mate in Commerce.
Have the ipad with the game plan at my side.
A cool glass of lemonade.
And reading Benginal latest input:
Somebody with time should probably come up with long term plans for our cities.
Thinking - that type of leadership is what makes this team great! :)
So if there is any last minute input for the next 2 turns, give it now will be playing in about 30 minutes.

T195 - make all the agreed move. All to plan.
Rams whips a LB in Ak. That's what I said.
Knight show 35%, Cat 1%, Mace shows 56%.
Being the chicken that I am, I bombard for 1 turn and look for a couple more units to join the fray.

T196
Hammy moves to FM on his own. No help needed. Now researching Dem!!!
Pop a GS - probably best to save for GA.
Christianity spread to Paris
Whip exec.
Give Econ to Qin - no civic switch option yet. Maybe he changed recently?
Finish tech give away with Sal - bribe into FM with Const.
Can't explain why but giving all those techs away hurt.

Jeez - we have a lot of workers. Someone with time should work on a plan.

And finally the big civic swap. After reviewing the cities, I decide to wait one more turn before flipping civics to get 3 mores whips in after loading up those town with hammers. As we will likely be out of slavery for a while, I feel this is justified. And I still want to take that Rams city before I hand off.
I hope folks are amenable.

Here are some screens.

As long as we are still in the GA when we swap civics (which we should be for a couple more turns, I think), I'm good.

Wipe Ramesses off the map and get us a decathlon objective! :)

Edit:

Jeez - we have a lot of workers. Someone with time should work on a plan.

Looking good!

Don't worry, I know it hurts to give techs away sometimes, but looking at the tech screen, we still have a crazy tech lead.

Happy to wait 1 more turn, and its definitely sensible to go round and give a lot of cities one last whip, for old times.
