SGOTM 16 - U'nu'sual S'us'pec'ts

As is my style, logging is now working, but I'm not sure why.

So go ahead and review the PPP. I'll look to play tonight after the Cardinals win! :-)

Paris is going to make chariots as fast as it can. Either whipping or building them. I will do my very best to manage the micro and the happy cap, but I think speed is of the essence here so I will be as aggressive as I think I can be. If that's vague, well then that's the way I want it, :).

We're getting to the stage of the game where this is perfectly fine.

Chris, when does the micro start getting intensive again? We are getting to the point where it is no longer CRUCIAL to have the exact micro written word for word, but come later in the game, we will need to make a cross over to windmills, workshops and watermills.

Ah, I see. Thanks!
Well, the best US has ever gotten in any SGOTM is 3rd place so we need to aim for second at the very least!!! :) :) :)

QUESTION: Thoughts on combat 1 versus Flanking 1 for our chariots? I tend to prefer combat 1 against archers on flatland, which it looks like both of these cities will be. Both for improving the odds, and for getting the chariots closer to super medics.
Definitely Combat 1.
I'd like a Barracks in Production after Forge.
Green from me.

EDIT (cross post):
IDEA We send the chariot that's about to be finished in Paris down to where the exploring chariot will be (on the northern end of the continent). The galley takes worker 2 and the settler. Then at the top of the continent drops off the worker and picks up one of the chariots. Then the next turn the galley lands the settler/chariot on the island. The next turn he picks up the worker who has been protected by the chariot. The chariot then proceeds post haste to the attack on continent barb city. I think that should work nicely and mollify everybody
Not sure I completely follow this.
But I trust you.

As a review:

1) Is my chariot / chariot / settler / worker idea okay with everybody.

If yes, green me!

OK with me.

And definitely Combat1 on chariots.

Green!

Benigal - very well done. :goodjob: Now if you can find a hut and bulb FT1 we'll really be in business. :crazyeye:

A few thoughts on the PPP:
gift brennus a spare fish - will net a diplo point at some point, every little bit helps
would like to look at the island before deciding on settle, i like the suggested spot, but the GHF may be an option, get clams and maybe a be more prod.
i would add the barracks in prod after the forge and before the chariots, but that is just me.
Also need some spies as soon Alpha is in. Gets the the stolen IW out of the way. But that may be next turnset.
why the question of sending the chariot with the settler? what is the downside?
C1 for chariot promos.

rest looks good, if the warrior scouting celtic lands sees a stack near rams, we can watch the fun!
do all barb animals disappear when the barb humans arrive? do we need to worry about the pesky wolves anymore?

green from me.

OK, whip a forge in production. Do note though you will not be 3 pop whipping it, unless you do it without any hammers invested.

Agree with SteelHorse, I think I would like the Barracks next after the forge in Production, should slow build in a few turns with the whip overflow, then start churning Chariots as fast as possible.
But, earlier chariots might be essential to capture the barb cities, so its your call.

Combat 1 for chariots.
GREEN from me.

Oh, and if we a Buddhism spread, revolt immediately.... (edit: assuming Alpha is in, otherwise wait for Alpha).

We have enough begging points to beg Hunting or maybe something even better, like Polytheism, which gives us the nice bonus of 10 turns peace as well..... but Brennus has to be friendly to us to allow us to beg.

Here is a great link for knowing how much we can beg: begging rules.

Yes, I know what you mean, and you are welcome.

If anyone ever begs, please put a sign (Alt-s) on the ocean next to Paris stating the AI name and the turn (as in "Brennus t94"), regardless of if the beg was successful or not.

This is essential to know when the last beg was in order to know what we can safely beg for next time.

Next time we beg that AI, replace the sign with a new one.
