SGOTM 19 - Also Sprach Sid

You can't let AI choose, that only means Machinery + Music are not enough. Put Phi or Music on the table, add another tech and then ask. Alex's forces will help our war with KK, it's better to get him in. Just don't give him Machinery.

 that's what I'm doing of course, as I said it was the cheapest bribe possible. Phi + Music isn't enough, we have to put either Machinery or Theo to make it work, I suggested Machinery because he is closer to raching it but Theo is good too

If you put Phi+Music on the table, how much cash will he ask to add. The reason why I want to keep 0% slider and have some cash is because it's easy to estimate AI's tech progress with cash.

Theo doesn't help him in any way. Don't worry about the deal being lopsided.

Theo can trade some cash afterward, especially after Alex join the war, he tends to release some cash.

An alternative way is to bribe next turn after we capture 2 cities, the price would be cheaper without doubt.

:confused::confused::confused:

While waiting for your replies I moved the Cuirs in KK's territory. And now Alex is asking a lot less! (maybe because that increased KK's threat index??)
:hammer2:

We can now bribe him for just Phi + Theo or Phi + Music (or Phi + Machinery + 405G..)

Odd behavior, but the deals seem more reasonable now.

Philosophy + Theo is fine.

I prefer to trade Theo > Music.

Phi + Theo or wait next turn. Maybe Phi alone would be enough. The downside is that Alex forces will be 1 turn slower. It's your choice.

Edit: As far as I know, the price of bribery is related with power ratio, did you just kill KK's HA?

Is planning to take Hsung-Nu T133 alright? Workers will be there to improve
When will the Whale city be settled?

The only reason to delay capturing H-N would be to chop one Forest into this city, e.g. for a quick Workboat (+1 :) in Rice Pudding/Constantinople etc., +2 :) in Case Départ/Sheepish?) or a Galley.

Although we lack Optics, so it's no big deal.

About order of battles.

Fight the easy battle 1st and see whether it's a result of favorable RGN.

If favorable RGN, try to fight an easy battle next, otherwise, pick a hard battle next. Not a sure thing, but usually this gives better result.

For instance, next turn, you can attack Murcia with a level4 Cui 1st.

OK.

KK bribed Toku VS Alex  :crazyeye:

FYI here are the forces in presence:
Spoiler :

Toughest defender is the Combat II/Formation Pikeman... I think we should hit him with 1/2 unpromoted Cuirs first

We have a flanking HA, right? Again, attack Murcia 1st and then decide the order of battles, this only works for battles with multiple stacks.

Start the battle in Toledo when you see a bad RNG battle in Murcia, such as a cui is wounded heavily vs a HA.

For the Formation Pikeman, if the odds aren't terrible (let's say 35% +), I don't mind using a Combat II/Shock Cuirassier to attack. Worst case*: the Pike will be badly injured.

Spoiler :
worst case, unless RNG is this bad. ;)

To confirm: I'm very happy for us to attack H-S.
