I'm imagining trades like this:
maybe get IW from SB?
Peter, wait for about 6-8 turns til we have Machinery (and Friendly is an option)
MC for Confu + (IW if we don't have it)
same turn: Machinery+gold? for Feudalism, begin Guilds.
Get Guilds in 4t (or 5 is ok right?)
Give Guilds for Philo.+ gold
Looks good if we can pull this off. We won't get IW until SB and Pete meet though, right? Do we have an idea of what turn that will happen. I'm not sure which way the wb is going.

Just to be sure: we get 6 turns of Friendly, not 5, right? If we bribe Confu on T117 for example, Peter is still Confu T122 and is Tao again T123.
Peter can't revolt back ton Tao in 5 turns, can he?

Yes, I think it is 6 turns of Friendly.

There is no way to get Iron Working from Sitting Bull until Friendly T117.
Even when SB and Peter meet.
His 80% of the AI needing to know Iron Working means knowing 1AI with IW is not enough for Sitting Bull, he still "won't feel like trading IW right now".

If we want those gem mines in Oxford capital, I think we have to get IW from Peter on T112 or T113 after he meets Sitting Bull.
Currency for Iron Working.
That way the 2 gem mines get done fast for Oxford and the workers can go get us marble after.

Huh, actually, now that I look, if Heretic does not chop forest to get Sankore in capital earlier, it can help with gems on T117.

All 5 workers do gems on T117 and T118 after trading with Sitting Bull.
2 workers go south to do marble T119 while 3 stay behind to finish gems on T119 and T120.

T121 marble gets 2 worker turns
T122 marble gets 2 worker turns
T123 marble gets 4 worker turns
T124 marble gets 4 worker turns
T125 marble gets 4 worker turns and is connected.

So marble ends up being 2 turns slower, but it isn't a disaster :hmm:

A shame the forest 4S1E of Science City goes to Clam City.
 
Is our map strong enough to pay for a switch to Confu by itself on T116?

I'm tempted to go into the Real Game, put Map for Slavery on the table, and ask what will make this deal work with Peter.

I'm not sure if the AI values a civic switch the same as a religion switch, but it might give us some idea.
 
We need to be ready with a confu fail-to-spread backup plan. #3 miss goes on to try failed city again. #4 miss needs to be built for 'metal Island'
 
might be nice to know, but don't we have to give him MC anyway? Cus we need to do Machinery/Feudal deal. Or you think we give MC+Currency for Feudal?

I was thinking Currency to Peter on T112 for Iron Working.
Leave Metal Casting with a tiny sliver left to finish it and start on Compass T112.

T114 Peter is done with Feudalism and is starting ???
We switch back to Metal Casting on T114 for a big overflow.
T115 we see what Peter is teching and a big overflow lands on Compass
T116 we bribe Peter into Confu with our Map+gold, then trade Peter Compass + Metal Casting for Feudalism.

The 2-civic switch cost us Meditation + 45:gold: last time, so our map would need to be worth big money. :hmm:
 
Kait, are there any decisions to be made before you can play on a bit?

FYI, I'll be out of town starting Sunday AM. I'll have to take myself out of the rotation until 8-June at the soonest.
 
Hopefully SB and Peter have met by then. Did we ever agree what Peter would do with his exploring wb if he had our map? Would he turn around or press on to meet SB?
