[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

By drafting cows and clams on T148 instead, the angry citizen in cows on T147 can be removed. The draft anger will fade 1t later though.

So real quick, the goal is to try to get 8 hammers in Forges everywhere, then do Courthouses up to 29/120 to set up 3-pop whip max overflows with Forge online first.
Whale and Silver already have Courthouse.

Profit will try to squeeze out 1 more 3xp Catapult for us.
Silver City will store its chop starting T149 with Wealth, then whip Forge later

Our Galleys will head back to the mainland to get 6 more units to torment SB with.
Next target will be Mound City and pillaging Cahokia completely.

Peter's half-price Harbor is really tormenting me.
Both St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl have a harbor.
We need gold by T149 or T150 at the latest.
Will try to drag our :gold: out and try to determine if Moscow is building Harbor

If only that Catapult wasn't looming or the Dog Soldier had 100% castle defense vs. chariot, we might try rushing Cahokia with 3 Muskets and 2 Chariots and hope he doesn't upgrade his capital Archers.
60% defenses vs. muskets just make it too risky.
With these mini-turnsets, are we foreseeing having workboats for domestic sushi?

I agree we keep a sudden attack on Cahokia on our radar.

Green light

We can only draft 3 muskets per turn.
If Cow and Clam is 1 turn later, then Canal and Profit must be 1 turn earlier.

The musket from Cow will also be 1 turn slower to the war.

Whale City will work on 1 work boat when it can.
It will soon work horse a lot, so it should be fine.

Cow City will make 1 after it is full on Forge and Courthouse.

I'm running the numbers and I think I have no choice but to run Wealth in Profit 1 more turn to see if Moscow is building a Harbor for us by T150.
Yeah, I just looked at this too. I calculate we can get Chem in 1 turn and Biology as planned even if we had to drop below 100%, but then sushi slips 1-2 turns cus we have a bit to go on liberalism.
If we want sushi 154, then we will need that trade mission 150.
I think we can survive til 150 with pillage gold, so hit those towns, villages, hamlets.

149 Engineering: We probably want Peter's gold too, not give some of ours (if we had any), so I'm thinking we have to go:
Constitution for War with SB + map + gold + Engineering.

Green Light!

Hopefully when we meet France on T150, it is De Gaulle.
De Gaulle is -1 for different religions (or -2 if Jewish religion) and trades Iron at Cautious

Napoleon is middle of the pack.
He is -1 for different religions (or -2 if Jewish religion) and trades Iron at Pleased

Louis is the worst.
He is -3 for different religions (or -4 if Jewish religion) and trades Iron at Pleased

If it is Louis, we might have to send over 2 or 3 Confu Missionaries and convert him before we can trade France for Iron.

are those religious negmods total after so many turns or Instant?

are those religious negmods total after so many turns or Instant?
The negmods build even before we meet I think.
When we meet France it ought to be maxed out.

If Nappy is Pleased and trades us iron, then drops to cautious, does that trigger cancelling the trade?
The trade keeps going.
If it gets canceled for any reason at all, then we can't get iron again until we get back to Pleased.

Iron is not needed for conquest + eiffel. We'll find a way to get it, but Frigates might not be in the cards in the near term.

Speaking of near term.
157 Astronomy (or 160 if we get an Artist)
Galleys need to be in our culture to be upgraded.
I'd like to put as much hurt on SB as we can, but with Astronomy, we should try to get some pre-longbow conquest done in the new world, so I'm thinking we bug out in a timely manner.
(edit: seems Charley is the only one without longbows. That may not last.. Hmm.)

@Mitchum when is your army going to DoW Charley? which city? and with how many units? how many boats?

Not sure yet. We'll have to see where we are with SB and our current army.

I agree that SB can fall absolutely last. We cripple him now and then finish him off at the end of the game with late-built units from our core. So I'd like to move on to the New World ASAP.

Playing Real Game now from PPP

Turnset #2 T147 - T148

Continuing from Turnset #1

T147 - City Revolt in Poverty Point for 513:espionage: with 89% odds...

Boom, 40% defenses gone!
Spy lived
and returned to capital.

1st musket has 65% odds. (9.9:strength: vs. 8.1)
Those 1st strikes are stronger than I thought.

Musket vs Archer 65% - Won!
Musket vs Archer 66% - Won!
C1 Chariot vs Dog Soldier 96% - Won!

Poverty Point pillaged for 174:gold: :D
Town pillaged for 45:gold:

Settler spotted in Cahokia.

Moscow 8:hammers:
Great Merchant sees no worker chopping forest.
Tile usage indicates Cow, Sheep, 4 coast.
City is 8 pop.

Berlin has 171:hammers:

Cahokia has 8:hammers:
Mound City has 1:hammers:
Chaco Canyon has 9:hammers:
Mesa Verde has 26:hammers:
Snaketown has 21:hammers:

We now have 138:espionage: on Sitting Bull and need 446 to see his research heh.

Draft caused Silver City to eat less food, switching deer to scientist.
Doing Workboat in Whale instead of Forge. Will do Forge T149.

T148 - Albert Einstein born in Whale City :D

Peter Engineering in 1 turn.
Proceeding with huge Printing Press overflow.

Moscow has 27:hammers: in something.
Scanning tiles with Great Merchant...
Looks like 3 coast, cow, and sheep. :hmm:
If I'm reading it right, that means 3 specialists and -1:food: per turn.
Moscow has Forge.
City is 2 hammers, cow is 2 hammers, sheep and coast are none
How did he get +19:hammers: in a build?

If he ran that tundra forest 2w1N for capital instead of Novgorod, and ran scientist + engineer, that would be +7:hammers:
2.75 multiplier would be +19.

I tentatively conclude that Harbor is a strong possibility.

At this slow pace of construction, it would be done T151.

Canceling Catapult in Profit City.
Max wealth everywhere except Science and Silver.
Pillaged farm, hamlet, plantation, village, and hamlet for 3, 12, 5, 14, and 13:gold:

Fur instead of deer in Silver City.
2 scientists instead of deer and farm in Cow City
Golden age hill mine in Clam City instead of ocean tile

Neither Arabs, Germany, or Holy Roman Empire like us enough to switch to Caste.
Not worth pursuing in case it offends France.

Adopted Bureaucracy, Slavery, Free Market, and Org. Religion.
Traded Paper to Peter
for 40:gold: plus map.

We are now at 226:gold:. (-75) on last turn of golden age building a lot of Wealth.

Berlin at 204:hammers:

Cahokia - 14:hammers:
Mound City - 2:hammers:
Chaco Canyon - 16:hammers:
Mesa Verde - 30:hammers:
Snaketown - 24:hammers:

T149 - Holy Roman Empire is demanding we DOW Germany.
Told him no. -1 diplo

Arabs have a fist icon!

Peter will trade Engineering :D
Would have sucked if he slipped 1 turn.
We had quite the overflow.

Sitting Bull is willing to talk.

Heh, Bismark completed Colossus.
I forgot that was a possibility.

I'll pillage 2 cottages and call it a day.

The team can calculate out if Sushi is T155 or T154 now much easier than before.

Moscow is at 46:hammers:, again +19.
If harbor, then 2 more turns.

Pillaged 2 cottages, 16 + 11:gold:

I'm now sure we have enough money to make it to T151. :)
