[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

I think it's odd #. 1 resource = 1 food,
3 = 2 food
Maybe we should wait on the extra clam until we have more courthouses cus that food costs us at least 2 instead of 1:gold: in Science for example.
Civlopedia says +0.5/:food:. We have 16:food: now and get +8:food:. Are you think it actually rounds up?

yes, back to plan A, Choco-2N, but I can't make sense of your "NW+NW+NW" comment
Our trireme is at Cahokia-SW. If we sail 3N3W (or actually NW+NW+NW which is 3 tiles diagonal up and to the left), our tri will be 4 tiles from SB's tris and they should go toward the galley.

Let me quickly throw the SB plan together in the PPP so you guys can look it over and comment.

If I don't play on Friday, things delay until Monday. I don't want to rush us too much but I'd like to finish my turnset on Friday if possible.

Are you thinking that we use one galley to move the healthy musket and chariot closer to Mound City and another galley to lure the triremes south for 2 turns.
no, galley2 can do both of these jobs. Just drop the units in neutral territory like the hamlet and run away (but not too far!).
Galley 1 can load up some more next turn and move them too.

Yes, I'm feeling the time pressure too. I'd like to keep moving.

RE:Astro
I feel we certainly have to wait til Peter picks it or RepParts or MT.
If we really don't want to sit at 0%, we could do Steel, but I think we're gonna run out of money while we're trying to stabilize with ch's and bank/market/grocer in Silver. And then we're giving up on the +200 harbor.
How about 50% Steel? until Peter decides.

Caravel 1
Heal 2 turns then cover our Trireme
We have two units named caravel 1 :crazyeye:

Anyway, with the loss of our galley, one caravel has to transport the exec T160 to Canal.
The one in Cows can actually make it to Canal, but you're better off using the one healing cus then they both get to SB border T161.
So, pickup the exec at Canal-SW, sail 1 tile into Canal and unload, proceed to SB.

The two GS's in Science are the free ones from the NP...

I will rework the galley 2 plan (down by SB) and the caravel Canal exec plan a bit later. Gotta get a bit of work done first.

The rest of the PPP has been updated and is ready for additional comments. Keep 'em coming. ;)

No, let's think shorter term. Temple? Start using that Sankore again.
I know you want to do this to complete some builds naturally and reduce whip anger, but isn't wonderbread a better use?
We can whip away huge amounts of food if we try to line up max overflow whips.

Trying to max out our size and coast to the end with smallish whip anger, I'm not sure.
We might just hit our caps and go max Caste Scientists.

I was thinking of preserving population too (and anger), but I forgot Whales doesn't care about anger.

At one point, 100 pages ago, I calculated:
having an extra pop (scientist) is +9bpt. A loss of 90 over 10t if you whip it away.
So what good is 75:gold: overflow failgold if you lose 90 by having one less pop? It will take 10t with one less scientist (+2 fpt) to regain that pop.

If we've run out of scientist slots (slavery) or growing into anger, then yes, we can whip for maxOF, especially in Whales. But i'd still like to see a shorter term target like HE vs Herm. OF into barracks? then HE?

I remember the corp maint formula looks like: pop* num of resources* constant, lowering pop reduces city maint.
